I give you props for TRYING to reform Adventism and trying to put the TRUE Gospel into Adventism.

But... I have serious doubts as to whether the mainstream of Adventism will listen. It seems like the majority of Adventists in the world are in 3rd world countries and they are VERY traditional and very conservative. I have been to SDA churches in Indonesia(my wife is Indonesian) and it is like stepping back into a time warp into the 1940's theologically.

And my whole experience as an SDA before leaving and becoming a Messianic was in SDA chruches that were primarily Indonesian or Filipino immigrants and these were VERY historical, IJ believeing, Ellen White thumping churches.

Yes there are Progressive SDA churches, many of them seem to be confined to Southern California and Australia. But the rest of the Adventist world, especially in the 3rd world STUBBORNLY clings to tradition.

I give you guys props for trying but I honestly think the SDA church as a whole is irreformable.

Night, I agree with those reforms on those threads you proposed.

Would I come back IF they actually were instituted? No, I am happy as a Messianic and I am growing spiritually and if it ain't broke don't fix it.

As awesome as these reforms you have proposed are the problem is the 3rd world countries where the MAJORITY of Adventists are would never accept these and in fact these would probably only go over in the most liberal places like Southern California and Australia.

I was hurt spiritually by the SDA Church but have already forgiven it and don't really need an apology.

I will tell you the conservative brand of SDAism I was taught in Indonesian and Filipino immigrant SDA churches in So Cal drove me to total despair for my salvation at one point. I had, back in 2006 studied the Great Controversy intently and based on what EGW wrote in chapter 28 became convinced that it was impossible for me to be saved no matter what I did or didn't do and I nearly became an atheist.

Then the 3Q 2006 Adult Sabbath School Quarterly came out and I found out the IJ was a sham and nothing happened in 1844 and I was SET FREE.

I eventually embraced Messianic Judaism and was saved this past Yom Kippur. All of the 14 years I was an SDA NOBODY told me HOW to be saved or even if I could be so I don't really feel like I was saved until I gave my heart to the L-rd this past Yom Kippur at my Messianic Synagogue.

There is a wide variety in adventism, in the large cities you can probably find a decent church. Towns you are probably stuck with whatever is there. I personally can put up with a lot (no one agrees with me anyways), but I know some churchs that I wouldn't put up with.

That is funny because I have said that the lesson study on the IJ the gospel and 1844 was probably one of the most harmful things that the church could have done to the supporters of the IJ. Even my class at the time which was taught by a rather traditional guy said the only thing about 1844 and the IJ the lesson quarterly put forth was that it was the beginning of the SDA church.

And that is true we started out of the great disappointment, but that hardly deserves the continuation of mistakes.

The ironic thing for me is that Clifford Goldstein was able to explain the Pre-Advent Judgment in a way I could accept!

I had long ago rejected the Traditional IJ as anti-Gospel and a rape of the assurance of salvation. But Goldstein's take was the same as how QOD laid it out. A new, improved IJ that did not hinge our salvation on the outcome. As such, I embraced it.

Ah well. There you go then. Life is funny that way.

When the Elder at my former SDA church that was teaching the Sabbath School class ADMITTED the IJ could not be explained from the Bible alone, that Ellen White was needed and when I could not get a straight answer from ANY SDA pastor I asked about it from just the Bible, I knew there was something seriously wrong with that doctrine.

The TRUE Gospel

Someone asked me this so I will answer:

Y'shua died on the Cross for our sins.

He kept the Law perfectly for us because we CAN'T no matter what we do.

There is no Investigative Judgement, Y'shua is G-d and knows EVERYTHING and KNOWS who are His.

There is no Great Controversy. It was already GAME OVER for Satan when Y'shua said "It is finsihed as He drew His last breath on the Cross."

We are Saved by Y'shua's Blood and we can know We are saved if we ACCEPT Y'shua's sacrifice.

There is no "guessing" and wondering IF we will pass and Investigative Judgement that isn't even really happening.

The atonement was COMPLETE at the Cross.

THAT is the TRUE Gospel, my Brothers and Sisters.
