  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hold on folks. dllhost.exe is a Microsoft program that supports COM objects, a fairly central aspect of Windows. I certainly wouldn't go ending it lightly. For my part, whenever I see a process that makes me suspicious I do a Google search. If the component itself looks trustworthy, then I assume that something may have been introduced into my system that is making it behave oddly, and I try to narrow down what that might be based on what I've installed recently, whether I see a connection with other processes that seem to be running at the time the spike occurs, etc.

Just a word to the wise.

Yeah ... weakbuthopeful is correct. That isn't a file that I would just go deleting. Read up on what it does. I had some problems with my old computer and somebody told me to turn it off/delete it because it was "making my computer slow" It wasn't that file that was the problem. The problem was that multiple variations of it were being opened by a virus so that it was running like 6 or 7 times at once and that is what was slowing down the computer.
