The book of the Revelation doesn't foretell or speak of "the apocalypse", it is the Apocalypse. The word "apocalypse" is from the Greek word apokalypsis, literally meaning "an unveiling" or when translated into Latin revelare, "to make known" or "to lay bare" (hence in English "revelation").

The name of the book of the New Testament by St. John of Patmos is known as "The Apocalypse of St. John", which means the same thing as "The Revelation of St. John"--it is the apocalypse/revelation which was given to St. John during his exile on the island of Patmos.

People refer to "the end of the world" as an "apocalypse" largely on the basis of seeing the sorts of things mentioned in the Apocalypse as pertaining to the end of the world.

However the Apocalypse of St. John doesn't foretell of a future apocalypse; rather it speaks of God's victory in Christ over the powers and principalities of this world. Pointing us both back to the perfect and finished sacrifice and victory of Jesus Christ by His death and resurrection, as well as pointing us forward to His return in glory to judge the living and the dead, and of God's promised renewal of all creation.

This is why the introductory portion of the text says it is "the revelation of Jesus Christ which He gave to His servant John", it isn't a revelation for the end of the world, or a revelation for the "end times", it is the revelation of Jesus and Jesus' victory--the victory He has already won for us, and the victory that awaits us when all is said and done and God is all-in-all. In spite of the horrors and tribulations and hostile powers of this world, the Church of Jesus Christ will endure, the victory of Christ shall prevail through every storm and season, and bring us all home in the end.

The fact is there would be no way to own a property in the time of the beast, or the man of sin. He starts a great persecution of the church. Anyone who is found would be persecuted. Jesus said when we "see" the man of sin we are to flee our homes and lives, to take refuge in the wilderness.

I would say if you fear the time is soon, you could prepare some survival kits. But really provision will have to come from the LORD for most.

It is really a great unknown, but many saints will have persecution, no matter how much they prepare.

Rev 13:7-10 And it was given to him to make war on the saints and to overcome them: and there was given to him authority over every tribe and people and language and nation. And all who are on the earth will give him worship, everyone whose name has not been from the first in the book of life of the Lamb who was put to death. If any man has ears, let him give ear. If any man sends others into prison, into prison he will go: if any man puts to death with the sword, with the sword will he be put to death. Here is the quiet strength and the faith of the saints.
