Prayers for my daughter

Please pray for my daughter. She is currently an outpatient in a mental hospital. She was emotionally and mentally bullied in school. The school dismissed the problem, saying there was nothing they could do. I believe what it came down to they didn't even want to bother. They made a total mockery of their well-publicized "anti-bullying policy." It got so bad, it gave her stress-induced migraines and she was put on the school's homebound program. I've been working on getting her into an online school, but it doesn't start until January 21st. When both her neurologist and her pediatrician refused to continue the program and she was told she would have to go back to school for a few months, she started cutting and became suicidal. The hospital psychiatrist has completed a report to renew her homebound program until after the new school starts and she will be home-schooled from then on. We just have to get through the next 2 months. I would be grateful for any prayers you would offer on her behalf. She needs as many as she can get.

I want to thank you all for your prayers! They were certainly heard because she is doing better. Discharged from hospital, she is only seeing the psychologist she's been seeing for a few years now. She sees her every two weeks and things are better according to the doctor. As soon as I noticed trouble with her back then, I knew to get her help from my own trials as a young girl. I know having someone to talk to who knows how to help and isn't involved can be a blessing.

I think you will all share my joy to know that she is now enrolled in an online school that offers much greater educational opportunities than her regulation public school could dream of having! She is completely free from the environment that not only let this dreadful bullying to take place, but totally refused to even try to put a stop to it. The sum of it was that the bullies were the cheerleaders and jocks, the "elite" of the school, who's parents are the big donors of time and money. The school would rather let their "anti-bullying" policy become so much lip-service than upset the "important" people. My prayers are not that they are harmed, but rather that they feel the pain they have caused. I am sworn with sacred oaths not to harm others, and that means more than just physical harm. I take this very seriously. I pray that by the Three-fold Law, three times good and three times bad come to them as they deserve. If they are truly good people at heart, they will have good things come to their lives. I feel that this will not be the case, but they will only suffer what they have earned by their own actions, not by anything I do.

Thank you all for your prayers and good wishes. I cannot express my gratitude, words are not enough. Please know that I believe your prayers have contributed to this end of her suffering. I bless you all from the depth of my soul.

One of the wonderful things about this particular school (and on of the reasons I chose it) is that they have a certain number of field trips. There is actual as opposed to strictly online association between students. They have both educational and social gatherings within a certain age group.

I had several choices in accredited (and those who didn't require payment lol) online schools. I looked over the options available and chose this one only based on several criteria. They have a course-load that is flexible to the student and easy access to teacher help if needed. In many cases, those who are most involved with my daughters' education give not only email addresses but phone numbers, in some cases not office numbers but cell phone numbers!

My involvement as her "learning coach" requires a daily and active participation in her activities. It's my job to push her to do more, but wonderfully, that's one thing I haven't had to do! She is approaching her studies with enthusiasm, even Algebra and she hates Algebra! One of the better things is that if she doesn't understand something right off, she can refer back to the teaching material and if that doesn't help, she can get help from a teacher easily.

So far, I am very happy with the school. Not only did they sent a laptop for her to use in her schoolwork, they sent a printer/scanner so that she can print out a worksheet, fill it in and then scan it and send it to her teacher. She has gotten a box with all the books she'll need for her Literature course plus vocabulary and workbook, and we are expecting another, I think it's for Chemistry. I seriously doubt they are shipping actual chemicals, but other things in support of the course instead.

I have to say, so far I highly recommend Texas Virtual Academy to anyone looking for a similar setup for their child, and I don't know the name they go under in other states, but they are a national school, and I'd be happy to check what names they go under in other states if it will help someone else.

She is and her father and I are so very proud of how seriously she is taking it! She's getting up early again (she slacked off while she was on the school home-bound program. She is actually enthusiastic about learning! The only thing that makes me a little nervous is that for her chemistry course, they actually sent a box with a variety of chemicals...I assume they wouldn't ship anything by UPS that would explode.

I'm still catching up on my own work, so I'm only popping in for a second. Then it's time to get to work. She's actually doing some work right now, so I feel like I'm slacking if I don't do some myself, LOL!
