  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A beloved and precious friend and member of this board is tonight facing a bridge we all dread to cross. Her Mother lies apparently dying tonight. She is 80 years old and has had an awesome life. Her Family is incredible, and all are Christians.

Her Mom is Spiritualy ready to die and is tired and wants to go Home. I know Jesus will meet her and welcome her Home. And even though we here know where she is going, and we know we will see her one day in Heaven, to lose a Mother surely must hurt about as much as anything can.

Please join me in praying for Alta and her immediate family as they face this ordeal.

We fellowship and play games in this forun and have a good time, and that is wonderful. That is also why I post this request here. We are, as Christians all a part of the Family of God, and Alta is our sweet sister. So, please lets join our hearts and lift them to Jesus in support of our sister and beloved friend.

If any would post a prayer here I will stand in agreement. I will also be posting a prayer in the Prayer forum.

Thanks for your love and caring, as this place is known for.

Our hearts go out to Alta and her family. "The eternal God is our refuge and underneath are His everlasting arms." Deut. 33:27 Father God, may you continue to provide strength and hope during this time for Alta and her family. Thank you for the life of her mother and lives she has touched. May your hands continually be upon this precious family, please comfort them and place your loving arms around them. May You be be their constant source of refuge Father. In your precious name, AMEN.

Dear Jesus, your child, Alta is facing the loss of her mother here on earth. Even though she has the hopeful assurance of seeing her again one day in Heaven, this is a hard thing to go through. Please, Lord, place your loving arms around Alta and her family, comfort them in this time of sorrow, and give them strength to go on. Strenthen their faith. Let them feel your presence, Lord. Thank you, Jesus.

And Jesus, I know you know Alta's mother better than anyone. I know you love her more than any of her earthly family could possibly love. Your love surpasses all. I know this, and yet I am still praying that you will be there to take Alta's mother home with you. Amen.
