I have "the gospel according to Peanuts" as well. I wonder if I can manage to not read that in only one day. Of course, if I do, I guess I better just find more to read.
Hopefully doing the Graceland curriculum based on some of the Lost And Found songs will keep me busy. I already did the hymn discussions adapting them as a personal study on "speedwood hymns." (Michael wrote those!!! Yeah, I'm impressed. .what a GREAT guy! *sigh*) At least there's something on one of Agape's CDs, too.
At least I don't have to sit in the church for four hours tomorrow. I have stuff to do for my job OUTSIDE of the building! Yay!

Don't know that I'm a speed reader. . .just depends on my mood. . .I think I read more when I'm excited or nervous about something. . .sometimes I can just "devour" books. At least doing the Graceland curriculum makes me stop, think, and write things, so it doesn't go SO quickly!Jim47 said:Ya'all must be a "speed reader" Huh?
ME 2, I read about 150 words a minute if use both eyes

No kidding, Rose! It took me quite awhile to find my identity as a Lutheran - through FCAS in school, I mostly got Baptist teachings. . .then on my journey of faith and finding where I was, I was in the SDA church for awhile and then returned to the Lutheran church to find I was a Lutheran. . .I could tell because of what the Bible said and what the church taught!Luthers Rose said:Actually...it is far more of a problem than you might believe. Particularly with the youth. Our youth are not exposed to other Lutheran youth...but they get plenty of influence from the Baptist youth. This filters in through friendships, other youth group functions as well as the local mission trips. I bet if you asked...a large number of our Lutheran kids would have some pretty startling answers to the question "What must I do to be saved?"
And the problem is not limited to the youth...the adults are impacted by their surroundings as well. Quite a challenge to grow up and stay Lutheran in Baptist country......R
