  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I would read a book, but I'd fall asleep. I feel so old. I think Isprouted more gray hairs this week. I was sitting in church, and I heard this noise. It was like... "SPROING!" Suddenly, I saw a gray hair sticking out from the rest. The people behind me giggled.
Man, it was right in the middle of the sermon, too. I had breakfast, so I know it wasm't my stomache growling.

Thanks for asking Flipper!

My SIL is doing well--she has been through the "daze" and the "collapse" from all the work to load up and travel here and now she is starting to digest reality a bit. She just heard from a neighbor that the tarp she had over her roof (after the damage from Charlie) is flappin' in the winds. So she knows that the water is leaking into her house right now. I think intellectually she has accepted this but emotionally it is a little different thing.

There were several hurricane refugees attending church with us this morning so that all had a chance to get together and discuss and provide each other some comfort.

One good thing is that her dogs and horses have adjusted nicely to their new surroundings...one less thing to worry about. In fact, Alan and my SIL just left to go see the horses a little bit ago.

I should be doing my homework but I succumbed again to the temptations of CF!

We've had several tornado warnings tonight. Dallas County wasn't under any, but they've been all around us.

I went to check my work schedule tonight. I instantly felt sick after I walked in that door. The boss's daughter came in just before Sally got off work. She couldn't believe Sally still had a job. She said she was going to call her dad and chew him out. I didn't know she had offered to work for her dad until he got different people hired. (Mikki told me this part)
I'm obsessing, aren't I?

Mark and I will go to Des Moines tomorrow.

My husband wants to upgrade our home theater speakers. I'm sure the receiver and amp will need to be upgraded too. I knew this day was coming.

At least he isn't going for Martin Logans or anything in that level (whew!). I am having a talk with my friend the audiophyle who corrupted him.

I'm just not quite sure how we are going to do the rear speakers. The space isn't very big, so the seating is against the wall where the rear speakers are. It was suggested that we get ceiling mounted speakers instead, because where the rears are, the sound will go straight to the middle of the room, and not where we are sitting - that makes sense. I think we can do that, but there is a soffet on one side. Not sure how to do this.

Any audiophyles here?
