Hello Christian brothers and sisters,

We are having some growing pains with our new forum setup. People are cross-posting between the two specific forums. The overarching SDA forum is the only place where people in the "Reformed" (soon to be Progressive) Forum and Traditional Forum can interact. The only exception is in asking an original post question (per thread, you can ask a clarification questions in that thread within reason (posting debate in the form of questions is not allowed)) and in posting fellowship (saying hello, giving encouragement, etc).

A further and more specific definition of FELLOWSHIP is here: http://www.christianforums.com/t2180188-purpose-of-traditional-sda-forum.html

I've been posting this Mod Hat (official staff post) in some of the reported threads today. It is farther reaching, though, and may be missed by some, so I will post it here. While this is tailored to posts in the Traditional area by "Reformed" Forum members, this applies to both groups. Please read and heed.

Thanks,
daveleau

Mod hat on^

Members that identify with the soon-to-be "Progressive" SDA forum are not to post anything other than Fellowship or Questions in the Traditional area.

Further posting in the SDA forum will result in staff actions. These incursions between the two SDA groups is causing the SDA forum harm. This is because not only does it cause a lot of arguing, but it causes staff to post staff records. These staff records will all-but cancel out any chance that members have for being on staff. That means that you are going to be stuck with rnmomof7 and me for a lot longer.

Please, stick to your areas in the same way that you stay out of the Baptist, Charismatic or Catholic congregational forums. That is how this division is going to be enforced and there is a SDA forum for debate between SDA groups as well.

Any posts not following this after today by previously established SDA members will result in staff reports. (That doesn't mean that you have free reign for the rest of the day, either. It just means that I want to give people time to read this mod hat.)

Thank you,
daveleau

Thanks for the bump.... a note of interest.... this inflammatory comment (IMO) was posted in the Traditional section and warrants a comment....

This subforum is quiet because most of us have chosen to post directly in the main forum... while a sub-forum is available to be used, it does not mean it has to be used... additionally we don't need a hideout because we don't mind sharing those issues that we enjoy discussing...

Flaming, bashing, and stalking..... that is called projection defined as;

  1. The attribution of one's own attitudes, feelings, or suppositions to others: “Even trained anthropologists have been guilty of unconscious projection
of clothing the subjects of their research in theories brought with them into the field” (Alex Shoumatoff).
  2. The attribution of one's own attitudes, feelings, or desires to someone or something as a naive or unconscious defense against anxiety or guilt.
I think that covers it....

I think I responded to that saying that members can post honest questions in the other area, provided they are not constant. For instance, there is a difference between trying to learn about someone's beleifs, which is the intent of the question asking in other congregations, and trying to debate while maintaining the letter of the rules. Fellowship (friendly posts like defined in the OP) is also allowed, but cannot discuss theology.
