The religion is surrounded by the person of Jesus (Yeshua in Hebrew) but not long after his death many people created systems of practice not necessarily related to Jesus.

Including Catholicism, its one of the big major religions. On the street, the vast majority of humanity has a negative view of Christians (because of what I said on question #1 and the various killings throughout history in the name of Christianity)
3. how do the people of the religion practice their faith?
There are hundreds if not thousands of variant mico religions under the banner of Christianity. The true Christians can often be found by the way they treat others. The greatest commandment is to love God and others more than yourself. It only takes a minute or two with most people to discover if they believe and live this out in their lives.
