Hello brothers!

I used to be a pious young chistian but recently i've been experiencing a craving for other men. I am really confused! While sleeping with my wife I've been thinking about other men, I feel filthy and I shower all the time but it doesn't help!

Am I going to hell?!

Please pray for me!

You are only going to go to hell if you don't have Jesus' blood to atone for your sins.

Use your spiritual warfare items paul listed in Ephs. 6.

Homosexual sin and or adultery is no different than any other sin. You don't have to be ruled by it or become a slave to it. God gave you the power to over come so rebuke it in Jesus name and believe. You do have that authority you know?

Sounds like the work of a Jezebel spirit this one.
If you have never experienced homosexual desires before and are now only experiencing them then it proves that you are naturally heterosexual.
You are not going to hell unless you let this defeat you.
Jesus is all you need to overcome this, he will never fail you.
Pray , pray , pray and get some help from a local church with the elders.
Get lots of prayer in your community.
We all experience sinful fantasies but it doesnt mean we have to give in to them.
Maybe this is something god is allowing to make you stronger.

God bless and remeber to keep praying even if there is no answer.

Your panic and confusion are understandable, but calm down: one is not sent to Hell for being tempted. It is giving in to such temptations that places one at severe risk.

I don't know all the details of your situation and to be honest I am not qualified to give a proper response. Besides the internet is not really the best forum to air one's private business. If this persists, find someone you trust -- really trust, like a pastor and discuss it with them privately. I would not recommend speaking to any family members or friends about this. This could be nothing more than a passing phase or something else, I can't say which. There is information online to help, along with more professional groups that deal with this issue. It sounds to me like satan is really pulling for you here. As in all the other advice, pray all the time. If you ask, Jesus can and will save you from this, He looks out for His own. You are in my prayers.

Greetings Steelworking....

There have been some good advice offerred here, but may I add that you should be discussing this with your pastor or a Christian mentor and then under their guidance and perhaps counseling, discuss this with your wife. I am certain it is the "spirit of this age" that promotes homosexuality, that is coming against you. There may be other scriptural references you may want to memorize and hold close to your heart, but the Lord spoke loudly to me in the spirit one night when darkness came upon my home. He said: "Remember the blood". The darkness was dispelled and I was able to go back to sleep. What He said had reference to the Jews when they were in captivity in Egypt and the death angel was about to be loosed over Egypt.

I am reminded of:

Ecclesiastes 4:12 And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

Once a long time ago, I was given this verse depicting myself, my wife and Jesus as a very strong cord. So discussing this and praying with your wife will be of great value for you in dispelling these evil thoughts.

Be careful, what you do also is cheat on your wife.
Let your cravings be nothing more than lustful, and keep them away from your wife.
Love your wife, and love her body.

If these cravings have never come before, then they'll pass. Ride them out and BELIEVE you will beat them.
If you dont believe, you wont recieve.
Ask for His help, and beat your demons.

Perhaps it would be better to "move closer to God" before Satan gets hold of my soul?

You need to be as close as you can to God at the moment.
Surround yourself with Jesus so that whichever way you turn you will see him.

Being a sinner does not mean you're going to hell - in fact, it was for sinners that Jesus came.

Trust me, every Christian still has temptations. They may not be the same as yours but yours is no worse than any other sin. You do have to strive against it, but the best thing you can do is pray.

Remember, for you to sin, three things must come together - inclination, temptation, and opportunity. If you cannot get rid of the temptation or the inclination then you must pray that God would not give you the opportunity.

I understand your confusion and suffering.

Telling yourself it's going to go away is not going to get you anywhere. Why? It's the same reason for saying that we're not going to get angry anymore, or suffer, or do certain things... and yet we continue to do them.

It would be interesting for us to really grab the bull by the horns and try to understand this question of "I," of "Me," and "Myself".

Would it be absurd to state that within each individual are many contradictions? You mentioned you had homosexual desires, and then you wanted to get rid of them. There's always this pendulum swinging from "right" to "wrong".

Our contradictions are the result of disorder within our psychological interior, where instead of one unitotal self, there exist many "I's" "Me's" and "Myself's".

I understand this might produce a lot of incredulity and shock, but it's true. We just do not percieve this in daily life because we are not conscious of it. We are, sadly, asleep.

The one who awakens consciousness here and now can verify the crude reality of the multiple self.

This is the story of "Legion" mentioned in the Bible. The man who met Jesus Christ said, "We are Legion, because we are many."

Within our psychology are psychic aggregates that we neither want to know about or accept.

How many times can we tell ourselves that this won't ever happen again, and yet we repeat the same mistakes? How many times can we fool ourselves into believing that we have found "salvation" or that we won't repeat such errors again? We sin and we repent many times in one day alone. Why should we always repeat this? Why do we behave this way? Shouldn't we get at the root of the problem and solve it, once and for all?

To forgive Sin is 1 thing but also he stated The wager of sinning is death. MY wifes uncle sleeps with married men all the time in bathhouses etc. I say the devil will lead you down the wrong path stay focused spend all you free time busying your hands one of my Favorite statements " Idle hands are works for the devil" keep your mind fouced on other Godly things like volunteering or helping the elderly. Give up a part of yourself Satan wants to utlilize any weaknesses we have rerebuke them by the power of the Blood of Jesus He said the devil has no control of us. Pray in the name of Jesus I rebuk those fantasies and send them to the place Jesus prepared for them. They have no control of you, you have complete control over sin in the name of Jesus you are Saved. AMEN brother.

Hey brother,
I love the book of James even though it hits me hard because he was so down to earth. James 1:14 "But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived , it bringth forth sin..." Notice the word conceived as in a it takes two to have a baby , it also takes two to sin: lust and opportunity. Every single person has some kind of lusts we have to keep in check.

Once while I was married, I had a neighbor that I found very attractive. Even the way she walk turn me on so I made sure I kept my distance and always made sure my wife around when she came over. In another words I made sure there was never the opportunity for my to be tempted with an offer.
Then a few years later I met a christian at work ( married) where we was talking to eack other a lot and realize we was getting too close. We had to stop sharing time together because we know it was leading to temptation. So we agreed just to say hey and that's it.

So we will never be totally free from temptation until we leave this life. Even the man after God's own heart (King David) found himself in adultery and then murder. This is why it's important to have a close walk with the Lord. Notice King David have been (where he should have been) on the battlefield with the other men (where Bathsheba husband was) the opportunity to lay with Bathsheba wouldn't happen.
So I'll be praying for you that you get the victory over these thoughts but realize we all have battles in our minds to fight.

There is so much insight in these posts and great advice as well. I agree when one member said that all sins are equal in God's sight. A sin is a sin...no matter what you are doing. I made the mistake of becoming a part of the sin of homosexuality and it took me down a very dangerous path. It will do the same to you if you're not careful. There are so many branches of sin that can come off of homosexuality if you're not careful. Often people who are in this sin think they have the world, when really, they may be close to having it, but still obviously have some problems in their life. The important thing to remember is that you are in the Lord's hands and in the end He will deliver you into goodness and light. God bless!

Brother what your experiencing is very common in the lords church. I heard a stat that 1 in 4 have homosexual thoughts.. these are christians mind you, as you can see that because we are saved doesn't mean we are free from trails or temptation.. So knowing this surround your self with "others" that struggle with your struggles. Don't try this alone. this is what the evil one wants, "to isolate us and devoure us" one at a time. get an accountablity partner, find a support group... there is alot of material on the Family.org web site just type in gay or homosexual in there site search bar...
Don't try to Will yourself well, that's a lie from hell!! We don't work that way! find those that can help you, and let your wife know after (at least) your in a support group.

Hey guy,
There is no sin in being tempted. Your bros and sis' are tempted by things that are common to us all. 1 Corinthians 10:13. But it is a sin to give into it having entertained the thoughts. Is there anything in your life that may have "set this off"? If we can identify this, this is a help in turning away from this.

I agree with Jan... I think it's excellent that you recognize the potential for this to turn sinful, but I think in a way you are being much too hard on yourself. I know that strange, weird things pop into my head all the time - not necessarily homosexual thoughts, but still, thoughts all the same. The human brain is a very odd creation. However, you have spotted the potential problem, and according to what you've said haven't done anything toward fulfilling this "fantasy" of sorts and have instead turned to prayer and asked for guidance from your family in Christ.

I think you should feel proud of the way you've handled this situation!
