  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Although I repented half a milli-second later, shocked and horrified by what I said, I still have the fear that I blasphemed the Holy Spirit and committed the unpardonable sin.

Hi friend

Welcome to this place in Jesus name. Blasphemy against the Holy SPirit is not that. What does the Holy SPirit do? He convicts the world of sin and righteousness and brings folks to Jesus. Blasphemy against him is not believing in Jesus. This is blasphemy, telling him in word and action to permanently go away, by rejecting Jesus. Who was it that brought you to that place of repentance friend? it was the Holy SPirit. So then how can you be cast off?

The Lord would say to you what he said through the prophet Isaiah:

Isaiah 55:7
Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on him, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.

Repentance brings a FREE PARDON. Your sins are thrown away in the deepest part of the sea and God has put up a no fishing sign.

2 Corinthians 5:21
God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Through Jesus Christ and only through Jesus Christ your sins can be forgiven. You can be the righteoussness of God. When God looks at you he does not see sins, he sees Jesus and what Jesus did for you.

And remember God promised, he will never leave or forsake you. Never means that, never. Hebrews 13:5.

God Bless You

I agree completely with what the above person wrote. I know I have acted, although I felt that the Holy Spirit told me not to. To be honest, not just once.

There is no use in posting two comments that in essence say the same thing, so I would just say this: You have been forgiven. God has forgiven you, in Christ, for all your past sins and your future sins. Christ cleanses you at all times. Constantly.

Yes, I feel the forgiveness. God bless you all.

You know, whenever you have problems with this, think about the following, remind yourself of it:
God loves you so much that He sent Jesus to this earth. Then Jesus was insulted, tortured horrificly and then brought to death on a cross: that's an incredibly painful and slow death.
When all this was done to him, what did He ask the Father? He asked the Father to forgive the ones who did this to Him. They insulted Him, cursed Him, beat Him, hung him on a cross and what did He ask God? To forgive them.

Think about that whenever you feel guilty and rejoice and feel comfortable in the incredible amount of love God has for you.

Also: do you really think that God would lead you to Him, that He would work through you, that He would give His Son for you but, at the moment you'd say something, He says: "well, Justin, you know, you did fine uptil now, you tried, but hey, I can't accept this. So what I'm going to do is to cut all ties with you. I know you're young, you've still got a long life to live, but it will - sadly - be without me. When I see you suffering, well, too bad, I ain't there anymore"??
Does that seem logical whatsoever? Not to me, God is love, if He gave Jesus, if Jesus was willing to endure all the terrible things He had to endure, I'm having a hard time thinking that God would abandon anyone of us.

Good that you feel the forgiveness. Everytime it bothers you again, just speak to yourself that you know you have been forgiven and that you won't accept a negative thought about it. Don't get frustrated, just understand that it's a thought... nothing more, nothing less and focus on the good things!

What Dondi and MvdG said - and also Oscarr, I have to disagree with you on that one because for many (myself included) it's not that cut and dried. I was born into the church, grew up with God, prayed to him, recieved answers, got healings etc etc and yet I only 'accepted him as saviour' a while after I'd joined the charismatic church. It was a step up but not a step over. I already knew him, spoke in tongues, operated in the gift of healing, was water baptised etc, etc before I accepted him - this was just another step.

Since then I've had even more revelations about salvation and what it means. And they all brought me closer to God in my walk.

For many the whole process can be a long journey, not just a simple decision and revelation.

Sweety, if you believe then you have tickets into the kingdom fairgrounds. If you believe and obey you can go on all the rides, and if you love the Lord then He puts you in management.
Jesus said He will never leave you or forsake you.

You did not commit the unforgiveable sin. According to my kjv study bible blaspheming the holy ghost is when a person who was once christian leaves the faith and become another faith. The examples given in my study bible was when a christian left the faith and became pagan or a judaic. To do so put christ to open shame.

blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is renoucing your salvation or attributing the works of God to the devil. a person who does this does not feel that they have done wrong.
according to I John 1:9 th Bible says that if we confess our sins to God He will forgive us. so although you feel bad about what you did/said, God forgives you. he knows your heart, and what the condition of your heart was when you did what you did, and said what you said.
i don't think anyone here is mad at you and would have to reason or right to be. we have all sinned against God in some way and have had to ask for forgiveness. at 19 you are young and volatile, and all kinds of things are jumping off in you right now. don't be afraid to talk to God, he will give you peace, talk to your pastor or a trusted elder in the church (not a wanna-be) continue to grow and it will be alright. you will see.
