"Let my teaching fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants."(Deuteronomy 32:2)

This Deuteronomy passage reminds me a lot of the Isaiah 55 passage: 'As the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven...so shall my word be...'

Yes. And today I read this part about God's Word in Psalms 12:6

"The words of the LORD are pure words, Like silver tried in a furnace of earth, Purified seven times."

God's Word is really precious! I read not too long a story in the book Jesus Freaks 2 where it was written about persecuted Christians holding the bible tight to them, for them owning one whole bible is considered luxury.

And then this reminds me of how many of us in the western part of the world can easily take God's Word for granted, we have so much, and yet we lack so much! We may have much materialism and other goods, but if we lack from the spiritual goods in God as well as faith in Him, we truly are poor in the Spirit.

Just look at the parable of Lazarus and the rich man. Whilst the rich man had a life on earth in great wealth, it didn't gain him any salvation. Whilst Lazarus was poor and had nothing of wealth on earth, yet he was standing together with Abraham in heaven.

This doesn't mean you can't be wealthy as a Christian, but how you spend your money when having wealth. Whether you use it for God's Kingdom or not. He may bless you with goods in your life, but at the same time, how you deal with your wealth will say something too. Same as with how you live your life, whether you live for Jesus Christ or not.

Indeed, the believer must lay up treasure in heaven.

I understand the grammar of the original in Psalm 12 refers the 'preserve them' to people that the Lord preserves.

This is POWERFUL.
True. I also thought it could fit with the new testament verse where Paul talks about running the race set before you, but I chose this psalms verse because this one talked to me today and I thought I wanted to share it in here!

Also I pictured a road with a cross in the far front of it when wanting to share this bible verse, and then I saw this picture which I thought would fit in nicely at first thought.
