Perserverance....

Honestly ChoosingJoy . . .there isn't any one particular scripture that keeps me from doing no good It's been more my experience (in the past) and knowing the other side (the truth of wrong choices) that helps me remember why I need to remain pure for my Savior and Husband - Jesus Christ.

Although, 2 COR 6:14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? Definetly rings a bell

and . . .1 COR 15:33Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.” certainly rings a bell!

ChoosingJoy, I am struggling with similar things. Separation has not been easy, and my upcoming divorce will be difficult. But God has got it under control. He WILL help you through.

You are so right about the temptayion to date unbelievers. It seems like Satan keeps tabs on our lives, and throws in a temptation or two just when you don't expect it. For you, that might be a great guy walking into your life just when you are feeling super lonely. That's the way it is for me, anyway - well, LOL, its not guys walking into my life, it's women from time to time. It's so important to see beyond that, to recognize that it's a potential ploy to make you fall. I firmly believe that there are strategies in place to bring temptations into our lives. And it's not as easy to tell when it's a bad thing if the package is attractive and they have a great personality and good moral values.

Being celibate is not my cup of tea, but it is possible and we definitely need to be committed to keeping sex and physical intimacy within the bounds of marriage. It's so hard - a huge struggle. But then I think of the God I serve... and the way my children look at me... and my testimony. And it gets a lot easier to be reconciled to the idea of not being intimate with anyone unless I'm married to them.

Pray daily. Ask for God's protection. Ask for wisdom and discernment in all that you do. You placed your faith in Jesus for a reason, live like He lives in your heart every day and you will be carried through all the junk that life throws your way.

Romans 8 helps me alot.

I was never married but it's a struggle nevertheless
