Ladies and gentlemen,
I posted most of this message in one of the threads, but I would like all Catholics to hear it, so I am making a new thread.
As most of you know, I am an ex-Catholic, an ex-atheist and recently born again. I have some very strong opinions which tend to rub many people the wrong way. Please, forgive me.
I am not here to fight any of you. Why do you think I am your enemy? My only enemy is satan and I don't believe that you are him. My goal is to get along. We are all human. I promise, I don't want to hurt anyone.
It is like this: You may like Rap, I may like Jazz. I can give you my honest opinion and you might not like it, but at least give me some credit for being honest. I am not saying that you are wrong, only that I don't feel the same. I don't hate Catholics! Some of the dearest people in my life are Catholic (including my parents, my only sister and majority of my friends). I may not agree with some things that they may believe, but I don't love them any less for it. We are all entitled to our opinions. I have some very personal views about Catholic denomination. I have studied it most of my life, so I have a pretty good idea about what I am talking about. It does not mean I am always right. I am FAR from perfect. One of the reasons I come to this board is to learn how to communicate my views without causing pain. Help me when I stumble, but don't fight me, please.
Truth is VERY important to me, so if I ever say anything you don't like, at least know that I am being honest. Most people will lie to you to spare your feelings. You can always count on me to give you my true opinion, even though sometimes it might not be something that you like to hear. Even though we are different, we can all get much further if we paddle together instead of against each other, don't you think? Let's learn from each other.
I KNOW we can all love each other and be truthful at the same time. God LOVES those two qualities. I am willing to bet my life on it!!!
