well of course it's going to be different... what parts of it in particular?

i think the differences between the Satan depicted in Scripture and the Satan in PL very marked. It seems more like gods vs. gods in PL instead of the picture we get in Scripture of the One God and a fallen angel, Satan... but i haven't read it in about 3 years either

There are way more differences than similarities, although I've seen a few very disturbing instances of Christians confusing the two...
yeah, and take Dante's Inferno as another example of how people get literature mixed up with Scripture

i havent read paradise lost (I wanted to, until I realized that its a big poem), but from what I understand, the Bible portrays the devil as the arch nemesis of God, while Paradise Lost portrays the devil as sort of a tragic hero or something. I thought that premise sounded incredibly interesting, but I couldn't bear to read that format

It is very different. The Bible is about GOD, paradise lost glorifies satan. But yes an intersting read. I would say that the bible is a more interesting read though! I do agree about the dante's inferno (and the other two books in that series) being mixed up into Christian tradition...
