So every now and then I will take a look at myself and feel kind of surprised. Like, I'll be driving along and suddenly realize: I'm wearing an ugly pink sweatshirt with milk stains on it. I forgot to put on lipstick and once upon a time I would never have gone into public with my hair looking like this. And I am driving my 6 year old to soccer practise in a MIVIVAN. HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?

LOL.

My family is cozy though. Dh and I are blessed enough to throughouly enjoy our children. We often choose "family time" over "grown up" time. We play pretty well. Spend free time at the Y, the park, etc.

When we are together, people look at us an smile. I think we are nice family. What about you?

I had to laugh when I read your post because I can relate in so many ways! There was a time when I would never leave the house without make-up and hair done, now there are times when I leave the house still in my pj's! We are currently shopping for a mini van.. that is when you know you are not cool anymore. Suddenly I look around and I am one of those old people. I love my life and wouldn't change a thing. I have two beautiful children and the most loving husband a woman can ask for. Friends look to us for advice on children and marriage and I know that my children know that we love eachother and them. The most beautiful thing is when we go out to eat and my 2 year old says mommy time to pray and folds her little hands and tells her brother to do the same (like he understands her at 5 months old!). God has blessed me in so many ways and I am thankful for every one of them!

THis is way too funny! But true.

I use to care how my clothes looked. My clothing always matched. My hair was always styling.

Now I purposely have a short hair cut. One of those wash and go styles.
My clothes have not matched for awhile THe PJ thing too funny, but true.

I now seem to own more sweat pants and t shirt with interesting stains than I ever had before. Everything from finger paint to my youngest rubbing her face on my shirt because she thinks it is one big tissue.

But it is worth it, To kind have a small feeling of what God must feel like! And to have a better understanding that God really must love us because we love our children and He loves us so much more.

Oh you all make me feel so thankful. For about 10 years I couldn't miss the front of my shirt while eating. I didn't eat a hot meal for about 8 years and I changed diapers for 8 years!

I think I'm feeling 'mature' if that's the right word. I have a taurus but will sell it in favor of a VW bus - wanting to rebuild an engine with my daughters for school. I am once again able to have clean hair and makeup on each morning. For the most part I'm dressed in matching neat clothing and ready for whatever God brings my way.

I never thought I'd be on the other side of it. The funny thing is I'd love to be back at the beginning! I love my babies and my youngest just turned 10.

Enjoy the finger paints - I'd trade them for the boys that linger where ever my teen daughter is. Oy!

My wife, Amanda and I have been together 5 years in April, we have 2 beautiful daughters, Caira and Chloe. Caira went to be with Jesus last June, I guess it was too peaceful up in Heaven and He needed a little jabber-mouth to liven things up. Chloe is 2, she is amazing, too smart for her own good, cute, and stubborn as the day is long. She's definitely a Daddy's girl (woo hoo!). We own a cozy home, drive an SUV (will never own a mini-van again) and have a lazy, fat Bassett Hound that Chloe loves to torment. The only way life could be better is if God had allowed us more time with Caira, and if he allowed Amanda to walk again.
