  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi there!

My husband and I have recently adopted a cat (1 and a 1/2 yrs old) and she seems to be losing her toys (a small ball, a toilet roll and a plastic cork from the top of a bottle, so far) after playing with them for a day or so.

We have looked under furniture etc and can't work out where she's put them! She hasn't been outside yet so we know they must be in the house somewhere. All we know is that they're there when we leave for work in the morning and she's lost them when we get home at night.

I know that dogs sometimes hide their favourite things and that pack rats take things and hide them. Does anyone know of cats doing the same thing?!

I don' think they do this on purpose & they don't remember where they lost their toys. My kitten & cat does this ALL the time. Good spots to look if you haven't already is under the stove & fridge, washer/dryer. Anywhere you think something could get under. They will play with them ALL over the house.

Good luck finding them!

When cats are playing with things they throw them around and all a lot. Because of this they can get hidden from the cats and buried quite easily. Just the other day we cleaned and moved a bookshelf in the house and under it (where we and the cat couldn't see of course) were a bunch of the toys he used to play with. Never would have found them if we hadn't moved the bookcase.

Mine likes straws.... and they disappear after a day or so.

and sure enough, one day, I pull out the TV set, and there is a set of 50+ straws, all neatly organized and perfectly aligned with each other.
