The whole reason we put troops in Saudi Arabia in the gulf war was to keep iraq from getting into our oil fields.

The hurrican and the venezuela issue is extremly minor to the production of oil that comes from Saudi Arabia and the middle east. We are dependent upon them with our economic lives.

The US had no fear in going to war in a nation (Afghanistan) and unseating the local rulers in an attempt to find him a few years ago. Now they are unwilling to do the same in a small area of Pakistan? It's not like Islamic fundementalists aren't angry enough at the US already, a little more won't hurt, surely?
