Knowledge wasn't the problem God had. It was do you love Me enough not do this. They failed the test and brought sin into the human race and all of Earth. sin started with Lucifer in heaven and has spread to us. God has no problem with learning anything that wasn't the point of the tree it was to show how loyal were we to God and not ourselves, Eve then Adam chose themselves over Him. God knew what would happen but because of free will He lets it play out so all know this. god wants us all to know just how evil sin is and what would happen if sin was in place of God, then when he returns like he promised in Matthew 24 he will end sin. If he did it any earlier the question would be around... would sin have been better than God, that's what Lucifer thought and he rebelled, if God just kill Satan and all sinners the second they sinned there would be no love in us for him which isn't what God wants. Once this Jesus returns we will know just what sin truly is and there wont be any more questions about whether or not God's law is the better law of the 2
