What do you think was the original Sin,

Eve eating the apple

or,

Adam sitting right next to her while she ate the apple, knowing it was wrong, but saying nothing.

Genesis 3:6 NKJV
When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.

NIV is essentially the same thing. Now the phrase "who was with her" I had not seen before - amazing!

Ok - now we see that it really was all Adam's fault, not Eve's fault, because he didn't say "now honey, we really don't want to eat that, do we?" LOL!

That said, I think the original sin was 1) disobedience and 2) lack of faith. Disobedience in that they disobeyed a direct order of God and lack of faith that God would give them all knowledge in time anyway.

You appear to make this statement as if implying that eve didn't know she was doing wrong.

From her own mouth, "At this the woman said to the serpent: "Of the fruit of the trees of the garden we may eat. But as for [eating] of the fruit of the tree that is in the middle of the garden, God has said, ‘YOU must not eat from it, no, YOU must not touch it that YOU do not die" Genesis 3: 2, 3.

Not only did she know it was wrong but also the penalty for dissobedience, death.

The sin was neither, the sin was disobeying God.
