I'm gunhoe on the issue because any connection with atheism and communism is thought of a stupid person.

I have not found any reason to think you fight for anything against that since historically atheism has been around longer than communism so I will judge you accordingly.

If you care...clear your name first and then we'll discuss with more 'agreement'/'peace'.

Atheism has existed longer than Marxism (communism), but that does not mean the two have no connection. Communism and Christianity have a connection as well.

I am wondering what is upsetting you exactly- are you suggesting that some people believe that atheism comes from communism?

It is the OP that is upsetting to me.

Anyone that believes atheism and communism has common ground is a fool worthy of disrespect.

If I would argue that Christianity has root in abuse(sexual and physical), I would be labeled as a fool wouldn't I? Yet scriptures can be proven as to why one could argue that route. I know people that have experienced it.

Anyone that argues a connection between atheism(which you admit has existed longer than communism) and communism is a person worth of mockery. If you are one, join the list of the likes of the OP. Atheism is not fault or to be blamed or to be added in any co-relation with the likes of how humans treated other humans with the additions to communism that comes with it.

I will gladly and joyously disrespect and mock ANYONE, friend or foe, that has the audacity to commit libel and co-relate atheism, the denial of the existence of gods and the relation between a government philosophy that has the connection with fascism that has murdered millions upon millions. Your god is as guilty as Hitler, so spare even discoursing this issue with me if you want to discourse with someone that has respect for the opposing side.

Atheism and communism are two distinct things. 19th Century German culture is not the same as communism, but the two are related.

Of course there are connections. All ideas are interlinked, nothing is novel and nothing develops separately in the history of humanity.
Much of modern atheism (but not all atheists) springs from much of the same philosophical roots as communism (and many other topics, good and bad) through the enlightenment movement. You can rant against that all you want, but it doesn't change the histories.

Shutting out ideas doesn't change reality. To that end, 'last words' are meaningless to me, they cannot change what is objectively true. Ignorance only prevents knowledge of that truth,.

I think your looking for the term "incorrect" adding politically doesn't change anything when the statement is wrong to begin with.

Not to say that I believe pure capitalism is a Christian ideal. I don't believe in that either. (But I have heard of many Christians who became more right wing after their conversions.)

That's an easy one, religion is heavily influenced by the culture it springs up in. If your Christian in the US, the chances of going to the political Right are pretty high, if you convert in Europe you'd still be amazing left wing by American standards.

Take for instance health care, come from a country with Universal care your not exactly going to take up the American view of survival of the fittest, and everyman for himself just because you've converted to Christianity.

I feel like, fifty years ago it was probably okay to say these kinds of things.

50 years ago, it was war propaganda, that unsurprisingly has stuck. I'm sure you could spend all day long ranting about godless commies and the reds under the bed. But it doesn't make either of them true or worth listening too. Lets not fail to point out the most Orthodox Christians are found in these Atheist communist states.

I reckon John Lennon saw a connection between atheism and communism, if Imagine is anything to judge by. He probably saw them both as key components of his ideal utopia.
