Hey I just found this online, apparently Columbia University (the elite school in New York City) is offering online coursework in Cyber Security (Cyber Security bootcamp). I am considering getting enrolled with this, I have checked out the curriculum and I think I can do it! I am already familiar with the topics of study. Columbia is on-par with Harvard, having this on your resume is stellar! A degree from Columbia is enough to get you into a very high-level job, the highest there is! Tuition in the program is around$15,000 but once you are done you can make so much money you can pay that off quickly. Link to the information is here: https://www.edx.org/boot-camps/cybe...ot-camps#fb2790e2-e7fc-5dc2-bf3b-644a94386979

Columbia's cyber security bootcamp may well offer you some skills and education that will be valuable to you.

Make sure you know what you are getting, though. What caught my eye is that the link in your post is edx.org, instead of columbia.edu. If it's important to you to have a bachelor's degree with the name "Columbia" on it, and if you're restricted to online programs, you might check out this instead: Programs | Columbia Online .

The edX/Columbia bootcamp could be a good way to get started in the field, though, as long as edX is very clear about what credential they're offering you at the end of the program. It looks like edX offers some assistance toward the Security+ certification, which may strengthen your resume.

My son is a computer engineer. He builds networks for major drug companies. Although the company he works for just got a contract with SpaceX in Texas. The school he graduated from only graduated half of his class. The other half flunked out on a curve. I hear the elite schools are more difficult to get into but they graduate a much higher percentage. Like medical school is difficult to get into but they graduate 85% of the class.

The people in these schools are very happy because of the people they associate with in the program they are in. These are very high caliber people. Even in high school he had friends that were getting $90,000 scholarships' to school that most people can not even get into. We had a foreign exchange student and it was difficult for him to get into a engineering program. But he did find a school and he did graduate.

Schools that are easy to get into graduage 50% and schools that are difficult to get into graduate 95%. Bill Gates for example was a part of that 5% that dropped out of Harvard University.
