Just cuz they don't come to us don't mean we can't go to them. It can get pricy but if you plan it right and with a group of us it would be alot of fun and not to bad money wise. Just an idea!

O ya in AZ we have a concert i duno probably like country bash...but we call it Country Thunder...its a huge deal! I'm pretty sure its sometime in April...we'll see whose playin and maybe we can take a trip to AZ to go!

Eh i duno it'd be fun to get away for a weekend or what not you know?

Being a former deadhead, I am living proof that one can ALWAYS go to the music!...great suggestion Tinydancer.

It is NOT as costly as one would think to drive 6-8 hours to the show you have been DYING to see...eat a nice dinner out...get a hotel room....drive home next day or stay an additional day and see the sites.

I know, I know....this is for us diehard music lovers!

Here in the southeast CTL, ATL, KVL, RDU, etc etc are only a few hours drive in any direction for us.

Here is a nutty story from my youth (1983)...

Friday 6PM leave Asheville NC
Arrive Syracuse NY mid-day Sat (drive all night)
See The Band/Grateful Dead that night at Carrier Dome
Leave Syracuse midnight after the show (drive all night)
Arrive home early evening on Sunday

Now that is either complete desperation or complete lunacy!

Do not, I repeat, do not try this at home! This is reserved for experts and experts alone!

We have a casino here that is hosting wave after wave of country stars.

This year they've had Diamond Rio, Tanya Tucker, Lorrie Morgan, and about 10 others, that I can't remember right now.

And we have the state fair here, so there's always a couple country artists. This year it was Rascall Flatts and Kenny Chesney...and I forget the third.

So, what'd you think of the city? I hate this place

To be honest, I did not see the city....saw the parking lot below the Carrier Dome, saw the inside of the Carrier Dome....then back home in the dark. I know, it is a sad story...but humorous in retrospect.

not a whole bunch of country artist roll through here. i realy want to see dierks bentley in concert but he isnt playin anywhere in CA in general...blah!!

any of yall have to deal with that?

I feel ya... SoCal is not the best place for live country. The one resource I have found useful is KZLA, the L.A. area country station. They tend to put on some good shows, even if there aren't too many.
