Try this, I think of praying like a phone call with God, just don't hang up the phone. I know it sound wierd but when I am scared (I get paranoid when it is dark and I hear noises) I just start praying until I fall asleep, I am sure that God doesn't mind. As far as anything further I would suggest counselling with your pastor.

Have you tried asking God for a greater love for everyone. Perfect love casts out all fear! You need never be afraid anyway if you think about it because even if anything happens to you God will only give you what you can take. God is not out to harm you. He loves all of His people and will protect you.

'The LORD is my Light and my Salvation-

of whom shall I be afraid?....

Get to a psychologist. You really need to seek help, please do. I don't want you to live in fear any longer. I will be praying for you. With love, Lauren

I agree, if it is effecting your life this much professional help may be in order. I pray that you will seek out some sort of help. The Lord will provide a way for you to see things in a better light. What you may need to do is to continuously remind yourself of the Good things God has done in your life.

Do you have a church which you attend. I suggest setting up a meeting with the pastor and tell your pastor about it. I am sure your pastor will have good advice for you.

First of all, pray about it. Ask God to give you peaceful dreams and to protect you. You should probably also see a doctor as it is possible that you might need some medication. You may want to check out the Struggles and Recovery forum as well.

Can you get to a counsellor - someone with tertiary qualifications? I know sometimes it's difficult if you're young or broke, but the good ones (imo) will take someone on free or for a very low cost, just so the person gets what they need.

When it comes to medication - would you be embarrassed at having epilepsy and needing to take meds for it? It's a brain condition too! What's worse - living the way you are, or seeing what people think about needing to take medication for something (IF you need meds!)?

Don't worry about your family, take care of yourself. You can do nothing but good by getting the help you need. You will be better able to serve those you love and you will be better able to show them love when you remove the cloud of fear.

I want you to know that you are not alone in haveing these fealings of paranoia and fear many folk have the same fealings. So I woudnt think that something weird is happening to you and if you asked for help some would find you strange.

You didnt mention how long these fealings have been going on, dont let it go on any longer fear has a way of trapping you in if you think your issues are to farout to get help with.

Take a leap of faith just give it a chance and ask for professional help from your doctor, I am sure once you do this you will feal a lot of the fear lifted from you my friend.

I pray the Lord will give you the strengh to go and get help.

God loves you and He wants you to be safe in Him! He doesn't want to see you sad like you sound now! If you will say to God 'I really want your kind of love and don't want to be afraid it drains me of energy and is not helping my walk with you! I need you my Lord help in my need!' God wants to see you live without fear and to be bold were ever you go for it shows the trust you have in God. I will pray for you!

God can help you to overcome this, yes. But you should be aware that God often chooses to help us indirectly through people around us - including doctors - rather than directly. So God can help you if you let Him - but you have to let Him help you in the way that He wants to and not expect Him to do everything exactly the way you want.

I know you are worried about what your family will think. I could care less. I care that you get the help you need. The bible tells us not to be worried about the opinion of our fellow man. And do not let this stumbling block keep you from getting the help you need.

First of all , stop dreading your condition and thank God for it !

Trusting that , in God's great and wondrous plan , this thing is designed to work for your good !

There's something lacking in your spiritual walk with Christ .

This persistent paranoia is there to motivate you to search and seek and pray and fast , and study and meditate on the Word , until your lacking is abolished .

Many people are seriously lacking spiritually , and some have these kinds of pronounced indicators , that something is truly wrong .

Those who lack such indicators , or who succeed in nullifying them , while their spiritual impoverishment continues , are the worst off - not those of us who have undeniable evidence of some crucial spiritual need , and are thereby compelled to diligently seek the Lord's remedy .

Our faith must be strenthened . Specifically our faith in God's love , as was demonstrated through Christ , especially the blood of Jesus being shed for you and me , and every other sinful human being who ever lived , or is living , or will live .

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. <-----> Romans 10:17

Immerse yourself into the Word of God , I strongly recommend The Authorized King James Version ; Strong's Exhaustive Concordance - with Hebrew and Greek Dictionaries ; and a comprehensive English Dictionary .
( These can be found online ) But a copy on paper has advantages . [ Simple and independent ] .

Every time you have trouble sleeping , use that time to prayerfully study Scripture . The more trouble you have sleeping , the better you'll Know first hand what The Holy Bible says . This will turn a negative into a positive . At which point , if Satan is behind your paranoia ( which he most likely is ) he'll have to change his stategy against you , if the Word in you doesn't drive him into the desert places first .

Once , when the same type of thing was happening to me , I prayed for The Lord's help , and suddenly , it dawned on me , crystal clear , that if " it " , ( what ever it was that was seeking to terrify me ) , was going to " get " me - it would have gotten me already , after the first hour or so . And therefore , I resigned myself to not worrying over something which could only suggest fear of danger , while posing no actual threat , other than to make one feel fear .

You see , the threat , that it's going to get me , was all it could get me with .

And once I understood that , it wasn't so fearful , and my spirit was given immunity to it's trickery .

Paranoia and fear are the worst feelings in the world to have I know. I don’t know if you have heard of the term False Evidence Appearing Real [FEAR] that is what paranoia is totally false.

If anything makes you paranoid I would ask you to question if it is valid and if is not test it, if others or places make you paranoid test them as well.

What I mean in testing is to face it is whatever you fear in doing this you will become stronger and the fear weaker, this is not easy but it will overcome it.
I think it would be good if you could get involved with some group work with others that may have the same problems as yourself that can be a great help, your doctor can maybe refer you to such a group.

But more importantly than all this is The Lord, peace I leave with you my peace I give to you. May the Lord fill your heart with Love and Peace for it is the best weapon to use against fear, The Lord knows you more than anyone, and has you under his wing.

I pray that the Lord will guide you and strengthen you and fill you heart and mind with good and happy thoughts.

You might want to have your prolactin levels checked to assess for a pituitary condition. Some common symptoms are what you are describing. These can usually be easily fixed with medications.
