Don't say I didn't tell you so...

Let me tell you folks, a LOT of card-carrying Republicans are beginning to see these things and are jumping ship. I have heard on other boards that some Republicans are so angry over the Government's lack of response to the Katrina aftermath that they are calling for President Bush to resign, or worse, be impeached. Criminal negligence has been cited, as well as obstruction of justice and willfully deceiving Congress and the American people. The heat is on...and I think what President Bush has done to the Republican Party is SO SAD...

I actually have seen this mentioned before.

I just don't know what to think about it. It may be exaggerated or just being said for shock value. I would hate to think that he would have that many problems, but who is to know really.

I would prefer to have more evidence before I believed it, as I am skeptical by nature.

The author of this article sounds like a twit. He makes allegation after allegation with no documentation.

In other news today it was cited that the President of Wannahawkalugie has a personality that sometimes portrays characteristics that other normal human beings portray.

How much evidence do you want? You have several news sources cited in this piece who are all saying the same thing. This lends credibility to the argument.

Hmmm...now why is it, Ginny, that Bush supporters cannot offer up any kind of rational argument other than posting nonsensical jibberish? Is that all you can offer in defense of your President?

So what you are saying is that 1) The media is always biased against Bush (even though it attacked Clinton like heck for the Monicagate thing); 2) The author of the article is a "twit" (attacking the character of the source); and 3) Posting jibberish as a response to criticism of the President is logical, sound, and rational.

You need to bone up on your debating skills, Ginny

And yet if President Bush frog-marched every Christian in this country into concentration camps and starved them like he did to the people in New Orleans you'd be perfectly fine with that.

I still don't get these last vestiges of Bush supporters. If Bush told them to jump into a vat of hot oil, they'd not only do it, they'd be all to happy to please their god-like leader in such a selfless sacrifice.

I do pray these people will wake up soon before it is too late...

I pray for the day when Bush is impeached. Hopefully, that will open the doors to hold those around him accountable as well.

Ooooooooo, so not only is he responsible for the hurricane itself, but now he is responsible for starving them. Not that he allowed them to starve, but he actually starved them himself. This grows more and more interesting.

There are independents as well as democrats that may disagree with Bush, but also know when to give it a rest and not expect superhuman traits giving sensible ideas and opinions.

No one has to be a Bush supporter either to make the same responses that you are reading. You will see people of all parties support and not support the President across these boards. There are republicans angry with Bush, and democrats that also give the man a break....

Where have these crazy allegations been made? (Well, except for the "allowed" part because inaction in that situation is taking an action, but Bush is not the only one responsible, it starts from the local and moves right to his shiny desk in the Oval Office.)

That is precisely the part of the post I was referring to....yes it does start from the local...I am not quite sure about the shiny desk...but yes even all the way up to the president.

Honestly, I do not buy it; this is the observation of a bunch of journalists; it is not as if these are trusted advisors that speak with him, apparently several journalists somehow concluded that he was this way...

I do not think that pulp news magazines analyzing the President from a distance have any right to come to such extreme conclusions about the President's personality.

This is deja vu of right wingers during the Clinton Administration making similar oulandish claims about the then President and the direction he was taking this nation. If the pundits are always correct, then this country is alternatively communist and fascist depending on who's in office. It seems we've always "drifted from our moorings" as a nation. Of course, if we're constantly drifting from our moorings, one wonders if we were ever moored in the first place. When the next Dem is elected, I hope I can remember to avoid chanting the same mantra being chanted nowadays. Here's hoping for that.
