• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

creative writing, not yet, but good suggestion.

I don't see the last days of any utmost importance. Futurists do no flood a forum about spirituality and ethics, so I have no problem with them, YET

BTW, I am not a futurist. I don't have a title other than christian, thanks.

I see utmost importance in daily obedience to Christ. I would love to find something more important than that, surely the last days do not equal our daily walk with God !!!!!!!

Dave, the only reason the preterists "flood a forum about spirituality and ethics" is because the moderators told them they had to talk about it there. They would rather talk in the eschatology forum, but the board owner decided that they can't.

I, too, have a problem with titles. However, the terms "futurist" and "preterist" can be simply descriptive. I'm sure you wouldn't have any problem with calling you a tall Christian (provided you're tall!), or a joyful Christian. If you believe Jesus is coming in the future, you can just as legitimately be called a "believes-that-Jesus-is-coming-in-the-future Christian." "Futurist" and "preterist" are not titles, but are useful in describing one aspect of your theology.

I see your point, but I prefer not to be grouped. Because if I did say I was a futurist, I would be a hypocrite for what I preach against, which is disunity. I THINK that Christ is still gonna come, but I am not sure of that, hence the no group thing. Just because a person is tall, doesn't mean you have to put them in a different category as short. The bottom line is this...   I chose to be identified in Christ only.  I cannot see any reason why this stance is wrong or illogical. I can, however, see possible reasons why grouping yourself outside of Christ alone can be wrong or illogical. So that is why my identity lies in Christ alone.

I, too, see your point.  And THANK YOU THANK YOU for making a point of how you aren't sure of Christ's future return, not because I don't believe in it, but because every Christian needs to say on many issues, "I believe this.  My current conviction is that.  I will not stake my salvation on it, but I've got no reason to doubt it right now."  However, the advantage of saying this can only be had if the next thing you say is, "...but show me why you disagree - perhaps I will learn something."  If every Christian did this, even if we didn't agree on everything, we would be the very picture of Christian unity.  Anything else is dishonest and prideful.

No applause, please.  Just send "blessings."

I mean, come on!  I've had 14 blessings forever!  That's pitiful!

Thanks, Parousia!

No blessings for you, one year. (Sienfeld)

Besides, the armor of God is totally overrated. I would rather give my blessings away then have those little things under my screen name. Am I up for the humble award yet? Shoot... If I ever got the humble award, I would not be able to accept it because of how humble I am. When I comes to being humble, I am the man.
