• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

This year, my goal is to grow as a Christian. Any spiritual goal-idea's for me to meet?

MY DEAR BROTHER IN CHRIST,

If it were me and i was serious about growing Spiritually in the upcoming New Year, i would spend the 4 days between now and then in PRAYER and FASTING, asking the Lord to grant you the discernment to know what HIS WILL for you in this matter is. It doesn't matter what we think you ought to to--we could probably come up with at least a couple of hundred "good" suggestions for you. What matters is WHAT DOES GOD WANT OF YOU IN THE UPCOMING YEAR? HE ALONE KNOWS YOUR NEEDS; HE ALONE KNOW WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE TO MEET THOSE NEEDS. "A MAN'S STEPS ARE OF THE LORD; HOW THEN CAN A MAN UNDERSTAND HIS OWN WAY?"(Psalms 20:24)
Pray and Fast from now until New Year's Day, and i guarantee you will know what you need to do in 2006 by 11:59:59 on the 31st.

MAY YOU HAVE A MOST BLESSED AND SPIRITUALLY PRODUCTIVE YEAR AHEAD,

commiting to reading your bible and quite time in prayer (daily devotions), really helps you build a relationship with Christ. He will meet you 100 % of the way and you will learn the goals that God has in mind for you ... this will build you up as a christian, because you will be allowing God to seal His words accross your heart. this is your spiritual armor.

I cannot fast due to health concerns. I do however make sacrifices in other areas of my life.

I recommend getting to know the persons of the Trinity. Last year I studied the Holy Spirit and sought information on His power and personality. God was cool because in different online devotions, I received all sorts of information about Him.

Developing daily disciplines is also very important to me.

my pastor replied when i emailed and told me this:

Bible and prayer are basic. Discipline your days to include.

Regular worship with your church and growth with a ministry. How do you serve?

Read a good book on growth and think through the suggestions.

Make some goals about spiritual and physical and moral. Be a person of goals and growth. (You would not have asked me if you were not already there, or course.)

Pray for growth.

Memorize the verses that form D-C-O-W! About a Christian and the Holy Spirit.

Thanks for asking!

Q: What is D-C-O-W?
