Hey I'm not in "full time" ministry yet, but from reading the threads this seems to have become more of a "new to ministry" and "young in ministry" thread.
I'm 25 male and a part of my church advisory board.
I'm kinda the pastors goto guy when he goes out of town, or just needs a sunday off. i end up giving the sermon about once a month.
The Peak mostly a college age church, and have anwhere from 70 to 150 people in attendance on any given sunday during the school year and about 30 people during the summer, attendance drops to almost nothing during short college breaks. We're part of the Christian and Missionary Alliance. the local nazarene church moved in to our building last year so we now have two churches meeting here. We get along great, and sometimes I go to their morning service, and I've become very good friends with their pastor. He had me speak for his congregation last time he was out of town.
I had an idea for a thread and before I start it I wanted to get a feel for the intrest level.

so here goes. I love to put together in-depth sermons, Ya theres a sentence you hear everyday. (sarcasm in italics) anyway I was wondering how much interest there would be in Critiqueing each other's sermons. I'M NOT LOOKING FOR DOCTRINAL FIGHTS. just your basic does it get the point across, is it in context, can the wording be taken other than how it was intended.
what I don't want is debate over bible translations, or argueing in general, if we all agree to not fight, I think it would be cool, I meen if you don't agree, fine, tell me but if you want to debate the issue start your own thread. I will promise before hand to do the same. also, I would be honored if someone wanted to use a message that I put together, and as for anything composed by me, please feel free to use it. the Holy Spirit wrote it all anyway.

so let me know and if there's interest I'll kick it off.

Welcome to the ministry forum! It's good to meet you. I wouldn't mind sharing sermon ideas... I would be most likely to post specific questions along the lines of "I want to get ___ point across, is this a good way to put it?" In general, I think it would be great, though, to turn to each other for sermon advice.

You know, what might work best is to post an individual thread for each sermon or topic or illustration or whatever it is we want opinions on. That way we can have more than one going at once without confusing them.

Hi macrina, that was kind of my thought, I want to leave this thread open to see how many people are interested and I hope that whoever wants to join us will agree to abide by the spirit of the idea in my original post. maybe link to your sermon thread from this thread, and agree that any issue the original poster doesn't want to discuss will not be addressed after the auther has requested it be passed over.
anyway just my thoughts, nice to meet you.
am praying about your congregational unity w/ regard to your prayer request, good luck w/ confrontation.

Great! Sounds like we are on the same wavelength. There are places on this forum to discuss biblical interpretation, but this forum is uniquely suited for preaching and pastoral issues. I look forward to pooling our thoughts in whatever way works best for each of us.

And thanks for you prayers. I am having to be patient, as I can't have the meeting quite yet... Prayer support means a lot to me on this one.

Ok it took me awhile but I could really use some critique on this one, it's gotta be given, and a fresh pair of eyes would be a help. congregation numbers around 100 but fluctuates up to 200 and if college is on a short break down as low as 3. as of now there are about 8 to 12 people who shoulder almost all of the burden and as we are loosing our renter our bills are about to double.
