Hey I'm not in "full time" ministry yet, but from reading the threads this seems to have become more of a "new to ministry" and "young in ministry" thread.
I'm 25 male and a part of my church advisory board.
I'm kinda the pastors goto guy when he goes out of town, or just needs a sunday off. i end up giving the sermon about once a month.
The Peak mostly a college age church, and have anwhere from 70 to 150 people in attendance on any given sunday during the school year and about 30 people during the summer, attendance drops to almost nothing during short college breaks. We're part of the Christian and Missionary Alliance. the local nazarene church moved in to our building last year so we now have two churches meeting here. We get along great, and sometimes I go to their morning service, and I've become very good friends with their pastor. He had me speak for his congregation last time he was out of town.
I had an idea for a thread and before I start it I wanted to get a feel for the intrest level.
so here goes. I love to put together in-depth sermons, Ya theres a sentence you hear everyday. (sarcasm in italics) anyway I was wondering how much interest there would be in Critiqueing each other's sermons. I'M NOT LOOKING FOR DOCTRINAL FIGHTS. just your basic does it get the point across, is it in context, can the wording be taken other than how it was intended.
what I don't want is debate over bible translations, or argueing in general, if we all agree to not fight, I think it would be cool, I meen if you don't agree, fine, tell me but if you want to debate the issue start your own thread. I will promise before hand to do the same. also, I would be honored if someone wanted to use a message that I put together, and as for anything composed by me, please feel free to use it. the Holy Spirit wrote it all anyway.
so let me know and if there's interest I'll kick it off.
