• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

    If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

    If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Dear Jynx;
Sorry to hear about the Lupus diagnosis. There is a reason that it's called the "disease of a thousand faces" because it can take on so many forms and hit people in so many different areas. You may find this hard to believe but the fact that you have been officially diagnosed with it is a plus. Many, many people (mostly women get it) spend years wondering what's wrong with them and going to doctors who are not knowledgeable on the subject. My Mom has had Lupus for several decades and her Mother before her but it took a long time to discover what it was they were suffering with. I am not all-knowing on the subject but I can sympathize with a lot of what you'll be (and are) going through. I'll start praying for you right away. Let me know if I can help in some way. Remember, you are not alone. God cares, I care and they are learning more about this disease almost with each passing minute.
Love to you , Maidryn

Sorry you were diagnosed with this. I was diagnosed two years ago - with no symptoms of it. Now I have symptoms. I plan on getting on a very nutritious diet (was on semi-nutritious type before) - but planning on it becoming more serious now. I have to.
