  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Need to get rid of these two habits..

I came from abuse background and with a deep depression, PSTD , etc....but thanks to God that I m slowly getting healed, and mostly these i feel so good in spirit, although my sleep hours and eating still in disorder, but i have faith it will get better. I have two habits which r hard to get rid of, I need words and supports,
One habit is, I developed the habit of eating good food a few years ago while i was so lonely and desperate, and nobody could talk at that time, I just went to outside restaurant to eat some good food which is offering u to eat as more as u can(u just need to pay a few, then sit there and eat until u r full). and each time I eat too much...........I m thinking why I m this way? maybe because i lacked food while i was a kid, i was forbidden to eat with adults, maybe because later I admire and I feel jealous of those rich people can eat a lot good things?

Another habit is, I used to work in entertainment field. I got a lot deliverance in mental etc already, but the last root there is hard ....I still feel lusted to compare with other pretty women, who is more prettier, who is more attractive, who is better pose style, etc.I know in God eyes every woman every man is perfect being, but I still being influenced so deeply by worldly media views, movies, magazines, worldly art views, etc, so ,"beauty"still becomes a stone in my heart

Could be because it's good food.

Habits don't change unless you are willing to put time and effort into changing them. You know the truth. The problem is doing it. Get an accountability thing going. Pray. Confess. Do the truth, find ways to make it easier to do the truth, and work on not making excuses for avoiding the truth.

Ohh Im with you on one of those Brother! I do a lot of power lifting as a part of my normal work out routine in the gym, so when I get hungry, "All You Can Eat Buffets" actually close down for the night when they see me coming

Its an additction just like smokiing, drinking or lusting. Being able to admitt it is a good start! Talk to God, ask him for relief and take it one step at a time, baby steps....the worst thing about getting rid of vices is that if you try to rid yourself of them too fast, they come back even worse then ever later on...

Hi there

First of all Praise God that He has already begun working in your heart and is helping you overcome the habits that you are trying to stop. He is so good and so loving, He will not turn His back on you if you lean on Him.

I encourage you to continue asking for His help with these 2 areas. Give it completely over to Him and watch as the hold these things have on you disappear. Fill your heart and mind on God's word and devote yourself to pray. Each time you feel pulled to fall into one of these habits, pray - recite scripture. Relying totally on Him is the key.

As far as beauty goes let the perfect Word of God speak to your heart my sister:

1 Samuel 16:7c> Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.

Amen to that!

Please feel free to PM me anytime!
