You know what? The other day I was at a friends. His mom was playing some music for me because she knew I was a christian. I played it off because at that time I was so hurt that I didn't want to hear it, but I kept up the "it's ok" face. Well yesterday I fell VERY hard into something. So far it shocked me. But this morning again I called on God. I prayed, and asked forgivness. But heard the acusation that I didn't mean what I prayed. I didn't know if God would accept my plea because I know what is in me. There is a lot of wrong things in me. But I hate that they are there.

Anyway, even though I heard the accusation...the music she played poped into my head. And I began to sing it to myself. Soon enough I felt better. I desire to praise my God. It is hard to do offten times when so many things compeat for out attention. That is my bigest sin...it is allowing other things to take my attention. But I know what you mean. Praise IS a stronghold.

When i read your post i began to get chills(not something that happens often) and the presence of God was so real. Yes, praising God, that's the right track...
Remember who the accuser is..the father of lies. He will accuse you and tell you you're no good. The bible says to agree with your adversay quickly. You are a sinner. But Jesus has washed you clean by his sacrifice. You don't need to be told you're a sinner. You know that, but you also know that the word says if we come to the Father with a contrite heart, he will not refuse us, even if its seventy times seven a day. He loves us and desires fellowship with us, but if we keep believing the lies of the enemy that God does not hear us because we have sin in our life, then i guess we'd better all give up, because there is none righteous, no not one. Don't let the enemy's lies keep you from the Father.
Not by the works of righteousness that we have done, but by His blood he saved us. Praise His Holy name.

to the OP, I think it is very important you realize that there is a difference between demon posession and demon opression. It is true a christian cannot be posessed by a demon, with it actually indwelling inside them in the spirit where the Holy Spirit lives. But it can oppress the soul. I'm not saying that this is what is happening to you although it is possible. Just remember one of Satan's biggest lies second to the lack of his existance is the lack of his abilities when a foothold or stronghold is given access to him through a doorway of sin or unforgiveness or generational curses of the believer. (nothing compared to the power of God of course)

theres an article regarding opression vs. possession http://www.christianforums.com/t164191&page=1

LOL thx beauty. But I already know the differance. It didn't frighten me when so many people started saying "COME OUT OF HIM DEVIL MAN!" LOL. It seems some people have yet to fight a strong spiritual battle. First thing they think is possetion lol. But no I don't believe the demonic dwels in the same person as the spirit of God. It just wont work cause God would kick him out the house. I am doing better these days though. Thank you all for your consern. I still hope you continue to pray for me as I need it much.

The closer we become to God, the further away satan will try to make us believe we are. I keep on rebuking him in the name of Jesus and I kneel down and acknowledge Jesus as my saviour and creator. I tell Jesus that I love Him and want to follow Him and ask Him to send satan away. Once when I had a really bad dark experience I shouted out the name of Jesus, He came to me straight away and the light came back straight away. Praise to God He never forsakes us.

repentandbelieve said:
Who do suppose Jesus was talking to in Mark 8:33 when he rebuked Peter by saying "Get behind me, Satan!"?
LOL, "But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of." Up until Jesus gave His life for us we did not have God dwelling on the inside.

So at this time you see peter acting on what the flesh is hearing from the spirit of satan. Does it mean satan possesed him? No, it just means at this time peter was not born again and his spirit was not of God.

Until Jesus gave His life there was not the spirit of God dwelling in a person continuely. After this however God came in and made His home inside us. So NOW God is in the house and He will not share it with satan.

Just offering some food for thought. I don't believe that demon possession is the source of man's struggle with sin. The way I see it we have 3 enemies. the world, our flesh and Satan.

Each person possesses, in himself, the source of his own wrechtedness. Paul, after recieving the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, continued to struggle with his own wretchedness.(Romans chapter 7)

Looksgood, you seem like a person who is striving to live a pure and holy life. One who loves God and his fellow man. Being a person who also has sense of his own infirmities, I can fully relate and sympathize with what you are feeling. Know that your love for God and your fellow man will cover a multitude of sin. By doing this you are obeying the 2 commandments Jesus gave as being most important.

After watching the answers offered, and much consideration....

There was a time in my past when the superstitions and teachings of others caused me to think on things that were not true. I was afraid that God would reject me. I had sinned too much, how could He forgive me? I continued to do things I knew I should not and the guilt over came me. I thought God would leave me, condemned to live with out his protection, love and care. And so, that is the way life went for a time. Evil tidings at every turn, tormented with false ideas and thoughts. I was afraid of the darkness all the times.

But, God being all knowing, He opened my eyes to the truth. When we believe in Him and His Son Jesus Christ, the blood of Christ covers us, perpetually. Nothing, absolutely nothing can separate us from Him. In our weaknesses, God's strength is displayed. The Lord's prayer began to fill my soul..."lead us not unto temptation and deliver us from evil". Words that filled me with hope when the darkness closed in.

Through the years, trusting God to deliver me, daily, moment by moment, and sometimes from my own imaginations, God is still revealing His truth about His presence being with us always. In all ways, at all times, He is with us, protecting, forgiving, and strengthening us. I am still learning.

May the peace of God, which passes understanding, reside in your soul.

What an awesome post, and what an amazing God we serve. You are so right when you say that absolutely nothing can separate His love from us. Keep up the good fight. Let's all keep up the good fight...
