Just to clarify.... the friend I am currently discussing is not the one having full blown conversations with the entity. That was a relative of a friend.... whom I was not close enough to help. I witnessed all of the things associated with it. I saw the videos of it speaking to her with intelligent responses etc. And she views it as a protector and friend.... despite the fact it's already proven to be a liar..... and destructive.

To answer your questions about my friend... who is currently suffering this....

Her health has been up and down. Since this began her health has taken a downward spiral. She is not sleeping well and stress is having an effect. Her health problems have been persistent but not life threatening for several years.

I do not believe the demon has caused cancer in the mother. Although the bible tells us demons can cause a variety of afflictions. It's also a natural part of life. It's purpose in telling her that... is to perpetuate guilt and misery. Demons get in your ear so to speak. Most of the time... that's all they do. They cast doubt. They condemn. They try to break you down and keep you away from god. In this case... it's gone much further. I believe everyone deals with demons at different points. Although I'm hardly saying every negative thought is the work of the devil.

I will consider the camera's. However.... once again... I'm not doing this to observe or provoke it. I'm doing this to eliminate it. She's already fed it by listening. She's already fed it by hiring a psychic and contemplating the various things she was told. The devil is a liar and accuser of the faith. Even if he mixes truth with lies... you must ignore it.

As far as the bible..... it tells us we have authority. The spirit grants specific gifts to people. Some have the ability to heal. One of the men attending has it. Some have the gift of prophecy. Some can cast out demons etc etc. There was a case where the apostles attempted to cast out a demon and were unsuccessful. They returned to Jesus and asked why.... They had fasted and prayed. But he said their faith was not strong enough. The demon was too powerful ie high rank. Which is interesting. Since this began.... Someone with mutual connections between the woman who speaks to the spirit Cassy and my friend.... asked the spirit about the demon. The spirit said he was too high rank. However I know that spirit to be a liar. And it is very possible they are one in the same.

Either way.... if the demon is too strong for us. We will continue to pray. We will continue to build her up in the spirit. And we may have to involve more people. Regardless.... I trust in god. And I thank you for the advice.

I will also consider the idol test. But I'm not likely to do so for two reasons. One.... god says we shall not create of wood or stone other gods whom we worship. Taking a statue of Buddha to a demon infestation hardly seems like an appropriate way to ask god for help lol. And two... I don't want to provoke it. I don't want to pay any attention to it. If and when it gets into my head I will praise god and ignore it.

BTW Buddha was not a god. He was clearly a man. I've read the four noble truths in Theravada Buddhism and found it fascinating. But it was pretty clear that he was a man. He was simply enlightened and wise. And it's worth reading in the same way it is worth reading other scholars who span the test of time. There are some sects of Buddhism which are more religious in nature. But primarily... much of the traditions are meant to teach lessons than a direct worship. I don't claim to be an expert on it. But that's been my experience with it.

it tried to strangle her once in her sleep.

That sounds an awful lot like sleep paralysis. If it is, that wouldn't mean that she is insane. That kind of thing can affect psychologically healthy people.

This is ridiculous. Why should they approach the situation with "Yep... that's a demon" as a working hypothesis to begin with? If a patient is experiencing seizures, no neurologist worth their degree will approach the issue thinking "It could be an epileptic discharge in the brain, or it could be a demon. At the moment, it's 50/50."

On it's own... I would assume the same thing. But in combination with the everything else.... I would not. At the very least.... massive amounts of stress caused by the demon is also inflicting psychological damage.

The Christian scriptures teach that love casts out fear and torment (1Jn 4:18), and Buddha taught the same (Sn 1.8). I suggest much prayer and cultivating a heart with meditation to be filled with feelings and thoughts of loving-kindness.

Fear, torment and hatred (the demon) cannot be fought against with fear, torment, and hatred (repulsion, on the part of your wife's best friend), cf Dhp 5.
