need advice

Today i did something that i am not proud of...(please dont laugh i have taken this seriously)

I found two baby lizard in my pool today. I took both of them out and put them in paper cups to observe them. After poking and playing with both of them, i let one go. With the other lizard, i took it and threw it on the ground. Long story short-i killed it. I not only killed it but i amputated it. I feel so bad.


I have repented and 1 john 1:9 does say If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Glad to see you repented. Sometimes we can really wonder why we did something so out of character. I can remember going to bullfights when I lived in Mexico. Now I wouldn't touch them with a 10-foot pole. Unless this type of thing is something a person repeatedly does, it can be a way to learn compassion. Too bad we're learning this way, but at least we are learning. How wise that you saw it needed confessing to God.

I absolutely agree with the previous two posts, but I think you already know that God forgives us if we are truly sorrowful for what we do. It seems like you may be afraid of why you did it and your scared you might do something like that again. I am curious to know how old you are and if this is the first time you have ever done something like this and if you killed it while amputating it. Personally, I do not look at cold blooded creatures the same way I would a mammal. Therefore, doing that to a lizard is very different than if you did that to another warm blooded mammal. Being a female I would not be able to kill an animal for a sport. But, there are plenty of Christian hunters. I can kill spiders and bugs with no guilt whatsoever. This is just my opinon but, since it was a lizard, I don't think there is anything psycologically wrong with you. I just noticed your age, you are only 16, that makes a big difference. Although you are old enough to know right from wrong unfortunately at your age you are going to make many mistakes in judgement. Do not be so hard on yourself. The people to worry about are the ones your age who do stuff like this and do not feel bad about it.
