First off, a bit of where I stand. I have recently (Hopefully) finished going through a huge rough spot in my life, lust, which led to disbelief, disbelief which led to losing Grace, which led to anger. And it goes on. I have begged to get back to The Lord, and so far, I have. For about the last month, I have been studying rather intensely. I started on 1 John, and just finished it only a couple days ago. I am also reading and studying C.S. Lewis's Mere Christianity. I am fully willing to study in depth, I do not just study the big teachings such as John 3:16, even though it it glorious. I enjoy getting into the less trodden things. I am always willing to study doctrine, and what something that will Challenge me, as 1 John did. Something that is for those blossoming into a full Christian lifestyle after 4 or so years of being a Christian. It should also be said, I am a 17 year old male.

Short Question: I want to get suggestions as what to start next. Hopefully this small testimony sheds some light on what should direct my research. I have started Hebrews, but am looking for my NEXT study. Any suggestions?

Hi Peter

I am reading the Bible in its entirety for the first time. I am also reading Mere Christianity. This is the extent of my study, so I cannot make suggestions personally, however some members of my Bible study group quite enjoy the writings of John Stott; last night there was discussion around his ideas that Christianity is a counter culture. Stott wrote about Christianity starting in the 70s and has published books into this millennium Perhaps if you are torn by peer pressure, you'd like the counterculture book;the former hippies from my church seem to think its still good stuff.

Welcome back home, brother.

Another person reading Mere Christianity right now. Guess it's good we're all flocking together here.

I try to match bible studies out of my moods since my brain refuses to concentrate unless it's interested. Sometimes I'm more into the prophetic, sometimes the theology, sometimes the history, sometimes the OT, sometimes the New.

I spent a few months recently studying the Letters and Epistles, all good stuff. I enjoyed reading J Vernon McGees commentaries on them as well. Planning to get the other ones out to get more perspectives as well. It's amazing how relevant all that is today.
