It is not reasonable that an evil God created us with understanding that to be loving is good and to be unloving is bad. I agree the existence of God and His loving nature is assumptions, as are the assumptions of the non existence of God and his being evil. The existence of evil does not prove God is evil. Evil can easily be explained in the Creator giving us the ability to love. That ability requires that we be able to chose unloving instead. That makes us the creator of evil, not God. God did not let wickedness out, we did.
According to catholicism, God created all the angels too. He even created Lucifer, God's most favorite angel. Sure he gave the angels free will; but why would he create an angel that was going to be all evil. Are you telling me that God has no foreknowledge?
My thoughts on God: An imaginary figure who found his origin when people were still huddled together in tents in the desert and shared stories about a superbeing that would protect them if they worshipped him to comfort themselves and banish their primal fears. This means that for me, it has no place in our society.
Such differences you imagine between a desert nomad and yourself! But this explanation for God has more to do with your society than theirs. For the tribesmen in question, the existence of God was hardly comforting knowledge. My thoughts on God: An imaginary figure who found his origin when people were still huddled together in tents in the desert and shared stories about a superbeing that would protect them if they worshipped him to comfort themselves and banish their primal fears. This means that for me, it has no place in our society.

I was in agreement until God became merely a concept. You lost me there.I believe that there are two wombs that we pass through. One is our mother's--to become flesh. And second, is the earth to become a living-breathing soul. It is our experiences and choices that determines our souls. Words are what describe our souls--that's why I think Jesus says, it is what comes out of your mouth that will defile you. In truth, if you think about it, it is the words that portray or paint a picture of our souls to ourselves and to others. Like for instance, how can you tell a sinner apart from a saint? Usually the first words out of a sinners mouth has to do with money or money related. Remember this when I told you, the next time you have a conversation with someone--the first thing that comes out of their mouths is money-related. What will these poor souls do when they pass through life unto death unto life when they realize their souls are not what they could be or should be?
Good thing there are people waiting for us on the otherside, hopefully, good people, waiting to receive us and alter our opinions of what reality actually is--from a materialistic world to a spiritual existence; as we all have spirits that define our reality. A spirit is a driving force of what is consistant to our being. A soul is our actual form--that which interacts with the world.
God is merely a concept and in fact manifests itself within existing beings and men, to help us hold a greater light to our souls--in hopes that we could be like God, in spirit and in truth. Whether a God exists or not is irrelevant; when one must have something above one's self in order to transcend the limitations of the physical and mental realm, into a spiritual existence.
Ja, same. If God only exists as a spirit within the hearts and minds of His creation, then how could He have created it all in the first place? If his existence is limited to this spirituality, without Him having a physicality, then how could He have existed before His creation, to create them?
I don't think merely a concept is accurate. You said above: "Spirit must be, first and foremost, a concept, if it is to be understood". I don't think God or spiritual reality is to be understood by us, nor can it be understood as long as we exist in this physical world with our limitations in perception of reality. I have no problem with trying to understand as much as we can, but I think we should undertake such search with a realistic understanding of our own limitations.Jesus says God is pure spirit and that no one has seen his form at anytime. It is also believed that God is omnipresent; and being so, God must dwell as pure spirit. A spirit is not tangible to the flesh or soul. In the creator being, possibly, it is this spirit that dwells within him and is his own; but his spirit reaches all things where ever they may dwell, therefore He, God, becomes omnipresent; and in so doing dwells within all life. Spirit must be, first and foremost, a concept, if it is to be understood. The spirit may be the creator beings own possession; but the spirit that dwells within Him, if it is His own, is what God conceives himself to be.
In otherwords, one possible manifestation of His spirit is in word of mouth, hence God sent His son, Jesus, whom in was the word made flesh; whereas, it was Pure Spirit beforehand.
It says, in scripture that--In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and The Word was God. (John 1:1)
Let me break that scripture down for you: In the beginning was The Word (that which is spoken must be divine) and the word was with God (the creator being) and The Word Was God.
Words are concepts; therefore, as it says, The Word Was God then God is a concept. The creator being had a concept of Himself and that concept was the word of mouth (that which is divine); and as it says, The Word Was God.
Yet from the Gnostic point of view, Jesus forsook his physical body and became wholly spirit.God's physical body is the Son

I would agree with you for the most part- I was just pointing out why GodSchism likely would not.Yet that is not what I believe. God the Father exists as our creator and sustainer; Jesus His Son exists in physical form, and represents God in the real world; and God's Holy Spirit is the part of God that dwells within us and lifts us up.
Yet from the Gnostic point of view, Jesus forsook his physical body and became wholly spirit.
