Well, if you can't say what you mean, don't blame me for it. Your inability to communicate clearly is your problem to fix, so don't get upset when people misunderstand you.

A similar question could be "Why would anyone want to make a jumping car?"

There may be no good reason for either design that would make sense to any of us; aside from the designer wanted to do that.

Seems to me that someone makes their car jump in an effort to be different, and they become different by providing a vehicle with a capability that serves no useful purpose and can actually cause damage. In other words, using resources for something which serves no purpose just to attract attention.

Are you saying that God is like one of those show offs who tries to looks cool by having a jumping car?

No. That was called interjecting a bit of humor into a conversation. It something adults do when they talk sometimes, ok? I apologize if my subtle humor was lost on you and you didn't understand.

I think you need to be careful because you seem like a very gullible person. There are a lot of scam artists out there who take advantage of people like you for their own benefit like faith healers or televangelist and you seem like a person who would gladly buy their snake oil.

That's actually pretty funny man. Oh I know there's scam artists out there. Send me a grand and God will bless you...! Yeah, I'm a little past that. When the Lord does something for you there is no send a grand attached.

You sound like you are so scared of being deceived, that you even reject truth when it comes to you. Therein is your own gullibility professed. And why not? They have you believing that there is no God. So...I appreciate your concern, but my God is a little more real to me than someones own personal doubts and fears.

No I just exercise healthy skepticism which you should try once in a while too. It's easy to just proclaim that you have "the truth" without a demonstration.

You're atheist, so have no clue that putting faith in God has a real effect and that the Spirit of God does supernaturally confirm things and reveal things to a man who is having faith. So of course you don't understand that or believe in it. I can't demonstrate this to you because it is an internal thing which takes place. So...what's a guy to do. Reject everything, and demand God to Prove Himself. That's arrogant. God doesn't roll like that.

If your god wants me to believe in him, and according to your holy book that's exactly what he wants, then it's reasonable to demand that he reveals himself to me. That's not me being arrogant, just your god playing hide and seek.

Sure, add me to your prayer list if you want, I don't mind. I actually pray fairly regularly as it is, though.

Yes, how wrong I was to think you wanted a serious discussion...

He does reveil Himself to those who seek to know HIM. He only reject those who reject Him. The door is wide open for WHO SO EVER is willing to enter in.

Yeah, but I can say that the magical baking fairies the cook the food in my microwave will reveal themselves to those who seek to know them too.

I was willing for many years yet God didn't show up. I also don't reject him, I just withhold belief until he provides evidence of his existence.

My door has been open for 9 years. It's getting awkward inviting someone in for this long.

I believe a lot of what HE created was just because He could do it.
I am not sure who HE would be "showing off" to as He has no peers to impress.

Remember that a day to the Lord is as a 1000 years with us. So if you're praying and the Lord says wait a minute...it could be awhile!

Plus, what are you waiting for? A biblical scale response? A big emotional overcoming of your being?

God doesn't always work like that. It happens here and there, but not always.

He's there whether you feel Him or not.

As long as I don't die in the waiting line, I'm good.

Plus, what are you waiting for? A biblical scale response? A big emotional overcoming of your being?
I am pretty open to a lot of different possible courses of action on the deity's part, as long as I am a believer in the end. Though, I would prefer other people not have to die or suffer for it, that wouldn't be very fair. I would be perfectly content with just suddenly becoming a believer, or having events set such that I convert on my death bed. Free will isn't an issue, because it is my will to be a believer.

God doesn't always work like that. It happens here and there, but not always.
Pfft, you think this deity sent a personal messenger to give you a couple grand, so I don't think asking for belief is really too small or too big of a thing to ask for.

He's there whether you feel Him or not.
As long as I can't tell, I can't believe. Trust me, forcing oneself to believe is not always possible.

No and No.

But I have had some undergrad work in bio and DNA. (40+ YEARS AGO) Enough to get a fair idea of the general workings.

Great.

So is it your position that someone did take the blueprint for a truck and 'modified' it to make a submarine?
