The truth is, I am speaking in macro terms because my vision or topic of focus has not been narrowed down enough. I am also writing about myself and how I am affected personally, hence my being stuck position.

I don't know what to say now. While all that you have written in this post I can sympathize with, the OP presented us with something that seems entirely different--a paper presented, or about to be presented, in fulfillment of a college course assignment.

"The instructor told us to discuss a Human Services problem. I wanted to share what I wrote"

Straying from the explicit requirements of the assignment usually is a mistake, and that's one thing that I thought it important to mention. But maybe the assignment was a little more open ended than I took it to be??

I agree with you actually. Oh how I long for life to be as you described. I actually have another
post that is more along the lines of what you said. I couldn't agree more about the greed and selfishness in this society. I am guilty of that too. It is a struggle not too want too much in a society like this. Alas, America is a far cry from the Renaissance period when art, culture and good times with loved ones were the norm. I was just praying to God that people would really love like Christ so that others would be drawn to him and then love like he does. I hate this greed that you speak of that often tears families apart! I had to keep things in context within the human services curriculum. The lack of generosity due to greed really gets to me. The prosperity gospel certainly isn't helping with this. Ethnocentric attitudes (me first) are behind some consumer greed. You have to be a superstar and compete to gain the most instead of cooperating in harmony with one another to make the world a better place for everybody. This may or may not include empowering others to succeed, depending on what your vision is of a better place. I know I was just speaking of not getting promoted and whatnot. What I really long for beauty, peace, love spending time with loved ones and working to cultivate relationships, outdoor recreation, nature animals music and art etc. People don't seem to care about such values today. . I could say a whole lot more, but it would take up volumes of books. Jen Hatmaker speaks of anti - greed values which I love like in her 7 book. Her focus is having compassion for the poor. I can't stand this dog eat dog society. I wish I could say more, but I do not have time. I feel as though I am not allowed to have happiness like a child. Our values of simple living don't seem to matter to anybody anymore! My husband quit his job to care for our son, and we are struggling to make ends meet on just my income alone. It shouldn't be this way.

I long for a better quality of life than more money. I will be the first to admit that I am confused about what I want and what God's will is. This also explains why I am being more general than specific in my posts sometimes. I admit that I struggle with double-mindedness.

For everyone: I need prayer for direction and guidance like never before! All I want is the John 10:10 life as promised in the bible.
