Author and film maker

He directed Sicko, a documentary critical of America's absurdly expensive and unequal medical system received a standing ovation at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival, currently the fourth biggest grossing documentary of all time.

He wrote 'Dude, Where's My Country' examining the close relationship between G W Bush and the bin Laden family.

And other books, TV shows and some other films.

A big force for moving the public from being complacent Republicans to thinking Democrats.

For the 2016 election he is backing

Donald Trump.

Warts and all.

He knows Donald hasn't seen at least one of his films, is totally uninformed about it,

but Donald has threatened the automakers not to move another factory out of Michigan into Mexico with a threat of a 35% tax on the cars and that nobody will buy them.

For Michael that is big point, that at last somebody is actually going to do something about the loss of jobs.

His 'recommendation' has another side to it though, that with Trump comes the destruction of the establishment that is bleeding America dry,

but will probably also come the end of the United States as it currently exists.

I guess compared with the wars Hillary wants to have, and her T-TIP to ship all remaining work abroad, at least with Trump there should be something left to lose...

or maybe save.

Moore is supporting Hillary. He said these tidbits to widen his movie sales.

Maybe that's it, but all us ex Bernie supporters are stuck now without a candidate.

The way I saw it was that Trump has little chance in total of stopping the establishment anyway, and Hillary is part of the establishment.

So I'll have to watch some more Michael Moore (pathetic pun), or more likely I'll try someone more dispassionate and seriously brainy, Noam Chomsky.

This election is getting so time consuming, I wish Bernie was still in.

Michael Moore did not endorse Trump. There's a misunderstanding about something Moore said. Snopes has the audio, which I don't think I can link to because of language. I'll include a safe-for-work portion of the transcript, because it's important to understand Trump's appeal:

"Donald Trump came to the Detroit Economic Club and stood there in front of Ford Motor executives and said "if you close these factories as you're planning to do in Detroit and build them in Mexico, I'm going to put a 35% tariff on those cars when you send them back and nobody's going to buy them." It was an amazing thing to see. No politician, Republican or Democrat, had ever said anything like that to these executives, and it was music to the ears of people in Michigan and Ohio and Pennsylvania and Wisconsin — the "Brexit" states.

"You live here in Ohio, you know what I'm talking about. Whether Trump means it or not, is kind of irrelevant because he's saying the things to people who are hurting, and that's why every beaten-down, nameless, forgotten working stiff who used to be part of what was called the middle class loves Trump. He is the human Molotov Cocktail that they've been waiting for; the human hand grande that they can legally throw into the system that stole their lives from them."

Taken from Moore's new documentary Trumpland.

No, he isn't. He sees voting for Trump as legal terriorism.

check it out on snopes
It is a misunderstanding based on a part in his movie Trumpland, and leaves out that he believes Trump supporters will regret their decision.

On the flip side, a Trump win will ensure Mr. Moore will have at least four more movies/documentaries to entertain America with.

Well, he already knows his way around Cuba, so that is a plus.

That he makes such a convincing case against voting for Hillary and also makes a convincing case against voting for Donald does confirm why my brain hurts, both candidates are so bad it is not possible to accurately decide which one is worse, and it is impossible to support either one.

Sorry bout that, with Bernie gone there is no one on the left.

Pff, everyone knows that snopes is a liberal site, so any original soundclip they have is obviously biased.

You misunderstand. The Trump team took a clip from Trumpland to imply Moore was pro-Trump. But when you look at the words Moore says right after that clip, he clearly is not. Moore says the Trump voters will be happy if Trump wins for a very short time and then will find out that their lives will get worse. Nothing will be fixed as they want it.

Moore has been on Fox News and other outlets explaining his movie, and pointing out that Trump could not have possibly seen it if he thinks Moore is for Trump.

And don't forget Moore's background. We know he has friends and family who have been hurt by the policies of both parties, some of whom are probably Trump supporters, so he would have genuine sympathy for them.

Agreed. It's so obvious Trump has zero clue on how to fix anything, and just blusters out what the faithful want to hear.

If he would put forward a coherent plan on something, anything, I would have at least some respect.

Moore was on Fox News denying any support for a Trump presidency.
He has some compassion for those that are supporting Trump - but none for Trump.

Michael Moore made it clear in a New York Daily News article 3 days ago that he views Trump as too dangerous to be president. I would link the article but there is edited profanity.

A review of Trumpland:

http://www.forbes.com/sites/scottme...e-for-president-hillary-clinton/#4e0dfbd67d87

The film is at its worst when Moore is riffing, both because what he says isn’t that funny and because he lacks confidence in his material. But when he gets down to business, he offers several poignant observations about gender imbalances (no one gets worried walking down a dark alley because they think a woman will jump out of the dark and attempt to do them harm) before moving into the reason for the season. And, in its second half (and most explicit in its final third), Trumpland becomes a passionate case not for voting against Donald Trump but for Hillary Clinton.

Its second half is a full-throated defense of Hillary Clinton, including a recap of how she was viewed/treated in her early days as First Lady when she tried to get universal healthcare in America. The healthcare industry remains something of a defining trait of our problematic system. Moore makes the case that one million Americans have died in the last 20 years specifically because we didn’t get universal coverage. It’s a stark reminder of how good the GOP has been over the last 25 years at preventing would-be economic progress, backing Dems into unpleasant positions, and then blaming the government for the result.
If one bothers to watch more than an isolated clip that the Trump campaign is usiing, one will clearly see that Moore does not support the GOP or Trump.
