RN from Iraq,
takes chart from newbie nurse, and reads it, walks over and turns off
the machines keeping the man alive.

Problems:
1. If Dr wanted it done, then the DR should do it.
2. You don't turn off machines that support life. Because this would kill
the person, as they can not breath because of the tubes preventing it.
When removing machines, you disconnect the tubes so natural life sustaining actions can take over. Ie the nurse didn't kill the patient, the patient could not support thier life.
3.When a patient dies, you don't leave it for the next shift to deal with, nor do you wait until the end of the shift to do it.
4.If you want to keep your newbies, you don't push them to face the toughest ethical question, they can deal with in their careers, the first day.

Trauma.
I did like trauma. Life and times of the many EMS.

EMT goes against orders and rushes into save his wife from a mad gunman,
End of the show, "Why were you even in the building?"
He looks at the office sign. Attorney at law, Divorce attorney.

They deal with medical and emotional subjects.
Just don't feel it with mercy.

Mercy fan here. I don't remember why I started watching but it's one I tried out to help as a distraction in my life and I got hooked. Reason I got hooked is it takes place in Jersey City, New Jersey, across the river from New York City. I grew up in a different part of North Jersey, out in the green suburbs away from NYC, maybe 30 minutes to an hour from Jersey City (always depends on traffic) so I sort of have this weird dumb nonsensical connection to the show. I've seen every episode except the last few and I might start one at nbc.com right after I finish this.

Veronica's a fairly interesting character and the show touches on themes that have sometimes moved me... maybe just correlations to my own life and that helps bring me back.

I also like the main doctor, with the beard, who was in the great film American Graffiti around 1975 or so. He's got a lot to deal with in his life and so there's another correlation there.

Mercy's not the best show on Earth and there are things in the show I don't approve of and wish weren't there but I still like it well enough to keep checking it out.
