CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ah, John. They fooled you.

Let's take a Shakespeare play. Let's say Richard III. 'Now is the winter of our discontent....etc'. About 30,000 words. Say 6 characters per word. That's 180,000.

There's 35 characters in that quoted section including the spaces. Getting the first character correct is one chance in 27 (alphabet plus space bar). Getting the second correct would be 27x27. The third: 27x27x27. Etcetera. Getting the first 27 characters right would take 27!, which is the notation for factorial 27. That is, 27 times itself 27 times. That's 1 followed by 28 zeros. One second per key strike and that's 1 followed by 28 zeros seconds. A million monkeys and that's 3 followed by about 20 zeros in years. For part of one sentence. Impossible.

But...evolution doesn't demand we get everything exactly right the first time. It get's one tiny thing right and keeps it. Then starts from that point. If it gets something else useful, it keeps that then builds from there.

Now evolution doesn't have an aim. It isn't looking for a particular sequence. But let's pretend that it does and see how that affects the million monkeys claim.

Let's say that a single monkey needs 13 key strikes on average to get 'N' (50% of 26). Evolution thinks 'Hey, that's useful. We'll keep that'. Then the monkey keeps hitting the keys and on average will hit an 'o' every 13 strikes. Yeah, that's an improvement. We'll keep that. Get the monkey to try for the third letter. And again, 13 strokes on average. So we can see that 180,000 characters will take 180,000 x 13 seconds. Which is 2.34 million seconds. And we are using a million monkeys, so that's 2.34 seconds.

As I said, evolution doesn't have and end game. But...by the simple process of keeping what is useful and discarding that which isn't, we move from 300,000,000,000,000,000,000 (I think that's 300 trillion years) down to just over 2 seconds.

Actually, they weren't trying to fool you. They were actively lying to you.

Note: That was done quite quickly without any checking, so I may be a zero or two out here or there. Feel free to correct it. But I think you can see the difference in what they told you and what actually happens.

That video showed nothing and has been debunked many times before. Evolution is not the same as monkeys writing on a type writer to get Shakespeare, it does not deal with perfection. Evolution just runs on 'good enough to work', hence why humans eat and breath with the same tube and why we can choke to death on food.

Also, such a comment ignores the fact that not every animal has the same lifespan, nor produces the same number of offspring, the two things that work best with natural selection.

And of course, you're not going to respond to this at all. You're just going to ignore it.
