I am sitting right now in chruch, we are going over Revelation. Love the book. we were going over the mark of the beast in revelation 13. some thing struck me. The mark of the beast is given by the Lamb like beast from the land, (usa) not the 1st beast, which is identified by sda's as the papacy. what do you make of this

The lamb like beast (USA) will be the one to legislate and enforce the mark and to cause it to go to the reat of the world.

Rev 13:15,16
And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

The key words here are 'speak' and 'cause'. For a kingdom to speak something, means they have to enact it, as a law. Then they are able to proclaim it. To cause someone to do something is to coerce, persuade or force them. We already see how the US imposes it's 'democracy' on other nations in this exact same way... either through persuasion (economic incentives) coersion (threatened consequences for not complying) or outright militaristic force. The same model will be employed to enforce the mark of the beast, the Sunday Law which will have it's roots in the Papacy. The Pope has already declared the need for legislated Sunday observance and we are seeing other countries starting to put in place mechanisms that will make this 'mark' go to all the world.

I do not believe the US is in any position to endorse a law regarding worship over the entire world.

Today, the total of all the Christian religions of the world is 25% of the world's seven billion people. So, how is a universal Sunday law possible?

What will trigger a conflict over worship? What will cause the US to negate the First Amendment and enact a national Sunday law? What will trigger the enactment of a national Sunday law in communist countries like China, North Korea, and Russia? What will cancel Sharia Law and trigger the enactment of Sunday laws in large Islamic populations found in Indonesia, Egypt, Iran and Saudia Arabia? What about in the Jewish state of Israel where conservatives insist on observing the seventh day of the week?

I don't believe a Sunday law is the next prophetic event to occur. Even if the US passed a Sunday law, which is impossible at this time, I don't believe they could force this law on the entire world.

Greetings Castaway,

Of course, you are right. What I think has no bearing on prophecy. God will do as He predicted. It does not matter if I believe it or not. My belief does not change a thing. Just as in Noah's day, many people did not believe a flood was coming. Did their belief change the outcome? Of course not. The flood came. And prophecy will be fulfilled again, just as God's Word tells us.

My concern is that the SDA Church is sitting around waiting for a Sunday law. God's Word tells us exactly what is coming next. You just have to read Revelation. Many people will be surprised and shocked because they followed their church leaders. Just like the first time Christ came. The religious leaders didn't even recognize Him. And in 1844, religious leaders were wrong again. What makes you so sure they are correct now?

If you guy had not noticed this post came before I posted in the tread "Sunday Law may happen after all" . while I don't know if it will happen. IF!!!! certian assumptions are true, it is an interanally and historically a logical conculsion. the tool are there for this to take place.
