Sad.

Years ago, he and I went at it pretty good. Unlike many creationists, he at least tried to learn, and he did have integrity and decency.

I had just emailed him about some things because he is such an incredible resource. The truth regarding the particulars of our origins is something I have been trying to figure out for a long time now. I am agnostic over a lot of it and he was par excellence not just here, but anywhere else that I could find this subject discussed. Rather than his comments being respected, they were usually trivialized with rhetoric, so I never felt like I got much use from the other side of the debate, which I needed. This forum will lose much by his departure but he has gained everything. I hope that in his memory people will seek earnest discussion rather than rhetoric, on both sides.
