  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Lord, protect the people who live on this island & visit it. Prosper Your people & Your church there. May any blockage to the progress of the gospel & Your kingdom be overcome in Jesus Name. Bring to nought, or turn the plans of the enemy for good. May any events occuring there or about to occur cause people to be drawn closer to Jesus. Turn away, or minimise any damage from any natural or man-made disasters. Give power & clarity to those who preach the gospel & confirm the message in the minds & hearts of the hearers. We pray for the salvation of individuals & families. We pray particularly for those afflicted by bondages from the enemy, mental, emotional & physical illness - set people free Lord. Work through leaders who make decisions which affect the people there. May laws & policies move more towards righteousness, justice & mercy. Quiet any storms in the atmosphere or people's hearts. Where there is shaking, lead people to the Rock that is higher than them.

Move in this island & the lives of the people there we pray, in Jeus Name. Amen.

Interesting... I looked up the information on the link on Majorca (Mallora, Spain). I typed in earthquake and Tsunami into Google for that area and came across this article.

I didn't have any sense of what it was about, so I tried to cover as many bases as were coming to me when I typed out the prayer.

Lord warn & protect the people on the island we pray. Keep them safe from any natural disaster. Amen.

You're welcome. Maybe the Lord took me to that article?? I will keep in mind what you shared here! Sometimes the Lord only gives us a "word" or number or song running through our minds as we are asleep or coming out of sleep...


((another thought: Could the Spanish Island chain be along the "Ring of Fire"? earthquake zones? Just curious.))

I woke up this morning with only the word "Majorca" in my mind. I was aware it was a word not from me, and most likely had come from the Spirit of the Lord speaking from within. I also had no dreams that I recall and this is nearly 6 years after your original post. The only points maybe worth noting is that it was my 17th wedding anniversary and

...that my readings today all were connected to signs of coming things in heaven and earth and how God'a servants had "invested" here for His kingdom work (some well and some poorly). So, I join you in prayer. If you are still are on this chain, I was wondering if the Lord has given you any more insight. Moreover, I wanted to encourage you that it was indeed the Lord speaking to you, as my experience was just as you described, which is how I found this post. So, we pray for God's kingdom to come and his will to be done in Majorca.
