Good day everyone,

I am seeking Christians who also love to learn Japanese. And to support each other in our quest for improving our Japanese. Whether you're male or female, it does not matter to me. As long as there are people who feel the passion to learn the language for a reason.

I consider myself a learner who has gone past the newbie stage, after several years of practicing in my free time. What I can thus far:

  • able to read & write hiragana and katakana
  • able to mostly read the most basic 500-1000ish of kanji
  • able to write in basic grammar
  • etc.
But what I wish to focus on is the writing part, as well as reading. I am re-discovering stroke orders of kana and kanji, expanding my grammar knowledge, and vocabulary, among other things. My faith in the Lord seems to have sparked re-newed interest in learning it again, with the intent to someday be able to reach out to Japanese Christians in the Japanese virtual world(web).

I am willing to teach and practice the basics with anyone, as I am relearning the basics myself.

I am available through PMs, or email.

私の話を聞いてくれてどうもありがとう。 じゃまた・・・

Hi guys. I'm at a very basic level, but I tell the difference between Chinese and Japanese writing by observing the no- character in Japanese. (The Korean Hankul syllabic writing is also distinct.) I'd love to learn more. Currently in Japanese I have to say: Nihon-go ga wakarimasen.

Well, ty; I've never used Skype, though.
BTW, do you also know any Korean? I found the Hangul very easy to learn although I've forgotten a lot of it.
A lot of Koreans know Japanese, especially older people.

ESV bible uses both? i think
Shang di and Shen
This is very interesting; because the Shen/Shangdi discussion is about a century old when it comes to the Union Version. ESV is a much more recent version. (I find it funny that it can be called an ESV, yet be in Chinese! I guess it was the same committee that sponsored it.)

Hi thread I use Japanese for my job but I feel like no matter how much I progress, there's always so far to go....! :o

Recently I've been trying to learn how to participate in mass in Japanese. I have a little copy of the order of mass (ミサ式次&#31532 that I take with me, and I've been trying to memorize things like the Lord's Prayer, Hail Mary, etc. :holy

We also have a prayer for the Tohoku earthquake victims that I'll try to attach. A lot of the prayers that the congregation is meant to say together include furigana, which is kind because who on earth can read something like 御子 (おん&#12371?! Might be good study material? haha
