Greetings all,

I was wondering if anyone can point me to something I could use for a family devotion regarding The Lords Supper. I thought that I might be able to use "This is my Body" by Sasse. I haven't read much of the book and plan on finishing it, but it's too much for my family. I'm looking for an easy to follow apologetic for young people or I should I say young Christians.......Thanks for the help

For web resources, check out Pastor Webber's site, Lutheran Theology - Sacrament of the Altar.

As for hard copy, I would agree that Sasse's book is not for family devotions.

What about Luther's Small Catechism, and Large Catechism? Or Formula of Concord (Epitome) in the new Reader's Edition of the Book of Concord?

In Christ's love,

Peter Leithart has a book containing short essays on the Lord's Supper. Read the reviews on Amazon.com. He is not Lutheran but what he says I think is quite useable. There are not that many choices out there. Peter is an evangelical that is waking up to the importance. He could be a bridge and lead to many conversations with those who are of a similar vein. It would be something new for us Lutherans to have something in common with others about something so key. Here's hoping.

Cheers,
Cosmic

thanks for the input all, I really appreciate it but......

something worries me, not related to The Lords Supper. It was the mention of Peter Leihthart(sp). I hope that his theology isn't becoming popular in Lutheran circles. This man has redefined Faith Alone to include works. For more information you should google "federal vision" or "new perspective Paul".
