  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm actually pretty excited for it. I don't know if I have the proper system requirements for it though, but all the inside videos they have on the site look very promising. I guess we'll see soon enough. Have they come up with an estimated date for it's release? I haven't checked lately.

Yup, KotOR is one of my favourite games, largely because it's not bound to George Lucas' insistence on cutesyness. A Star Wars story that uses the words "lightsabre" and "loading ramp" as innuendo is for my money AWESOME, as is a game that can be effectively unfinished and somewhat broken (KotOR 2) and still manages to blow me away every time.

That said, I'm glad KotOR was the first Bioware RPG I played, otherwise I probably wouldn't have given it a chance. It's a shame that a company which makes great gameplay mechanics seems to do dialogue the same way EEEEEEVERY time.

Old Republic sounds good, but I just can't see an MMORPG giving the same feel that the previous two RPGs did. They need to absolutely blow people away with the story, as the previous set up two amazing characters, and I'm just not convinced being on the same quest as a bunch of powerlevelling teenagers (no offence) will bring with it the same epic-quest feeling.

I thought the innuendo was hilarious as well I died laughing at most of the flirty scenes and the awkward advances the characters would make. And I agree, I think they left KotOR 2 with a terrible ending; I mean, a ship flying out of the explosion of Malachor 5 followed by credits? For spending 40+ hours of gameplay beating it, I honestly expected much, much more. There was no closure and no catharsis at all! To be fair the end does follow the path the whole story creates; you don't know much about the past, you're hated, wanted, dead to the order, so on. So it would make sense to end the game with all the mystery of where they're heading as to how you got there in the first place. I just wanted more I guess, haha, sometimes it's best not to know what happens afterwards though; leaves it to your own thoughts I guess

Goodness, how did a KotOR appreciation thread get literally EIGHT posts in without anyone mentioning HK-47?

HK-47 is possibly the most amazing Star Wars character ever envisioned, and has got absolutely nothing on PROXY, aka the fanservice droid.
