Nami scoffed then looked at Aaron, "If he really wanted to remain good in this world, he would've finished the battle about half an hour ago. Now look what remains! A pathetic creature who tries to steal hearts from the innocent!" she exclaimed while walking over to Vangel, drawing her sword, "How do you treasure life?"

Zi's keyblades appeared, but Vangel pushed him gently aside. "I have to answer for this, not you." Vangel sighed and threw his sword, which had returned to him, to Nami's feet. "I'm done fighting. But if you are going to execute me, Ms. Nami, at least allow me to explain my reason for being here."

"I was sent by the Time Lord to retrieve one thousand hearts so that we could seal the Chain of Events, which has now been activated, for another eternity, and prevent universal destruction. The hearts in the bracelet are the exact remaining number that are needed to seal the Chain, and my final mission objective was to take the bracelet and seal the Chain, at all costs."

"In the middle of that, however, Master Aaron was thrown into his final battle, as had been predicted, and I was to allow him to be destroyed, then come and destroy his enemies and harvest the hearts for Enuch. What for, I do not know. But I couldn't bring myself to allow Master Aaron's death, let alone take his heart."

"So I made it to the battle in time to keep the paralyzing needles from hitting Master Aaron once more, and we escaped."

"One thing that I did not tell any of you, however, was the first time I lost my heart. Master Aaron, the time I lost my heart to the Hollow was the second. While I was out in Halloween Town, the Time Lord attacked me with a group of Heartless, and Zi came to my rescue at his creation."

"I have done much evil. I deserve death. I will not beg for my life. But Ms. Nami, if you are going to kill me, the only way to do it is around Heartless."

"We've got no time for games. Nami, you can kill him after we open Kingdom Hearts again.....", Aaron said.

He nodded at her. "The last few times Kingdom Hearts was opened was when we were near death, or a large concentration of hearts was in the area.....And, if you are thinking what I think your thinking, we can crush the bracelet, and allow the hearts to be released. Then Kingdom Hearts should open to absorb the hearts into it.", Aaron said.

It sounded like a good plan.

Zi nodded. "That should work, but..." Vangel sighed. "The portal teleports randomly. We'll be able to find the next world it's in by using our hearts, but until then, any and every world is at risk." "Which means we need to find the portal ASAP, before it destroys a world. Although, there's really no rush since everything will be restored afterwards." "Right, but we can't allow civilians to find out about this, or the Organization. We need to find it... I don't feel any location, however." "Neither do I."

Vangel and Zi looked at Nami and Aaron, and spoke in unison. "Do either of you have a certain world in mind?"

"I've got a feeling it'll be the world with the most overall hearts......Twlight Town.", aaron said.

"Good, good... we should head there. If you can contain your hatred for a little while that is, Ms. Nami." Zi rolled his eyes and laughed a little, but then stopped when he saw the seriousness of the situation.

Nami groaned then sheathed her sword, "I want this pathetic creaton out of my sight right now...but I can't stand to take his life, Aaron!" she exclaimed while calling her ship down, it's destination already set to Twighlight Town. "I can't..."

Zi casually strode over to Nami and whispered in her ear, "That cretin saved your life as well as Aaron's twice, if you recall. I haven't been around very long, but I am pretty certain that when someone is having trouble, friends are supposed to help, not recklessly abandon." Zi went into the ship and Vangel simply lowered his head. "You don't have much time before the portal opens there. I would suggest making haste to Twilight Town and then opening the passage to Kingdom Hearts right on top of the Chain's portal. Once this happens, you must get far away from the portal, because anything sucked into it at that point will be destroyed permanently." Vangel's sword floated up and went into its sheath.

"I will stay in case the portal opens here again."

(((Bah. The manager at United says I absolutely have to come in to work today, despite the fact that I hurt both my wrist AND ankle falling. I have to work at 5. I called 10 minutes ago, and they said 'well, we're already short three people....Call back and tell us how you feel.'

Well, for one thing, I have a brace on both my ankle and my wrist. My wrist hurts like crap--I can't move it back at all without a sharp pain going through it, and I can't move my pinkie, because the pinkie muscle is part of the wrist muscle, I suppose.

I can walk better now that the brace is on my ankle, but not too much....)))

"Let's hurry up and get going.....", Aaron said.

Climbing into the ship, he strapped himself in.

If it's any United I've ever been to (which I think I've been to one) or even near, they'll shut their mouths real fast.

I cause trouble in stores. "What do you mean you have NO Wiis?! You have to have at least ONE!" "Sir, we don't have any." "Grrrrrrrrrr.... when will you be getting more?" "We don't know." *grabs cashier's shirt and puts his face uncomfortably close to theirs* "LISTEN BUB! I DIDN'T BRUSH MY TEETH JUST FOR THIS OCCASION! NOW! TELL ME WHEN YOU'LL BE GETTING A Wii IN!!!" "T-T-Tuesday!!" "THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT! WHAT'S YOUR NEXT STEP?!" "Layaway! I'll put it on layaway for you!" "YOU'D BETTER!" *next Tuesday* "What do you mean there was no Wii put on layaway?!?!!" *and that cashier was never seen again....* ))

"Hello, and thank you for calling United, this is Laura."

"May I speak to Jesse, please? *manager*"

"Please hold."

*waits a few minutes*

"This is Jesse.

"Jesse, this is Chance. Uh, yeah, I hurt my ankle and wrist yesterday, and I don't think I'll be able to come in."

"Hmm....Well, we're already short three people....I'll see if I can't find somebody...."

"Uh-huh. Yeah. Thanks." *hangs up.*

*THREE HOURS LATER*

"May I speak to Jesse."

*waits*

"This is Jesse."

"Jesse, this is Chance. Did you find anybody?"

"No, uh, we didn't."

*thinks thoughts too profane to be inserted*

"Okay. I'll see if I can come in." *evil smile*

*Calls the Corporate office*

"Chance, this is Jim. You don't have to worry about coming in today."

Nami gave a glance over to Vangel, pushing him out of the way while going to the ship. "The amount of lives in my bracelet are worth way more then mine. So your little act of trying to steal them is not going to be saved by your attempt to save my life," she explained bitterly while turning her bracelet into a necklace, it being placed tightly around her neck. Sitting in the front seat by Chance, she gave a "help me" glance over to him while releasing a stress-ful sigh, sinking into the chair. "Computer...Twightlight Town please..." she called out weakly, the screen buzzing around to get the engines started. "Let's go Vangel!"

Vangel solemnly looked at the necklace hidden under his jacket. It was identical to Nami's. He sighed and shook his head. This entire thing was a mess... and he wasn't going to let it get any more messy. Vangel walked to the entrance of the ship. "Zi, when you get to Twilight Town, make sure that no one gets near the portal, understand?" "What? You mean you're not coming?" "Didn't you hear me? If the portal comes back here, there's no one else to hold it off. I have to stay here. No one gets near the portal, do you hear me?" "Yeah." Vangel slammed the door of the ship and walked away. "Vangel Ion, you surprise me still. You are going to attempt to stop an unstoppable force?" Vangel gritted his teeth. "Go to &@#$, Enuch." Vangel kept walking and stood next to Jack.

"If that portal comes back, we're not going to be able to send it away without getting in range of it. It takes two or more hearts to transport it. If it comes back, I cannot do it alone." Jack nodded. "You won't have to."

"I thiink Vangel said he was staying here, so I'm assuming that Zi is coming with us....And, my name is Aaron, not Chance, like it says in your message....", Aaron said, thus breaking the fourth wall.

The engines roared suddenly, and they flew out of the orbital plane of Halloween Town. The ship veered quickly through space, but it seemed to pass by ever so slowly.

"Destination will be achieved in one hour and thirty minutes....", the computer said.

"Good!! Maybe I'll finally be able to get through that darn Dusty Desert with Sonic.....", Aaron said, turning on the laptop that extended from the main computer.

"Good jump, Aaron.", the computer's voice said in a monotone, commenting on the game.

Vangel smiled weakly. "Thank you." Jack put his hand on Vangel's shoulder. "There's something about your relationship to those two that you haven't shared, isn't there?" Vangel looked at the ground and sighed deeply. "Yes, but..." "You think they won't believe you? Or is it something more?" "Why would they believe me? My entire purpose for being here was to steal the hearts from Nami and take them back to... my master."

"Vangel, what you have yet to learn is that what you've done isn't what matters, it's what you're doing that makes you who you are." "After all the lies, after everything I've done, there's no way I could ever expect them to trust me." Jack patted Vangel's shoulder and smiled. "Maybe so, but then again, they don't have to, if I know what you're planning."

Vangel looked away. "There's only one way to stop it..." "And you knew it wasn't going to go to Twilight Town." "It's coming here, and no matter how many hearts they pour into it, it is past the point of being full." "And so an immortal heart must be thrown into it." Vangel sighed and looked back at Jack. "For the short time I've been with my... family... I've felt... whole. Almost like they were all I was ever searching for. And now... that they know what I've done... there is only one way to right the wrongs I have committed." "And that is death?"

"No, my friend. That is the gift of life."

Nami chuckled and looked over at AARON's game, watching the little blue furball run across a screen. "I'm going to go take a nap...Wake me up when we're fifteen minutes away..." she asked while reclining her chair , the computer placing a blanket over her.
