I don't think you're ever ready for kids but I do believe there is a right time to have children. I believe if you seek the Lord he will show you when they right time is.

Having kids is much more than a nice feeling and a cute pregnant tummy and that is certainly not the right reason to want a baby. A baby is a HUGE responsibility and will change your life as it is right now. Babies grow up, they're not always cute and cuddly. You have to be ready for the other things that go along with all that, the good, the bad, and ugly.

Have you had much experience with babies? If not I would advise you to talk with a friend who has children about this, and if possible babysit for someone with a baby or at least follow them around for a day to see what all goes into being a parent. That is the best way to see what it's really like and to help you know if you're ready for a baby.

I agree on the point that youre never *really* ready. So long as you realize a lot of things are going to surprise you, you can just keep adapting and learn fast. I was never around many babies before my son and hadn't babysat in 10 years.... so when I found out I was pregnant I spend th next 7-8 months figuring out what I needed to know.

I agree with the first person who responded: you are never really ready for kids. You will always be (hopefully) growing and learning and maturing! In a lot of ways, children mature you. But of course, if you are not financially, emotionally, mentally, or physically capable of handling children, then now is not the right time. I, too, would encourage you to spend some time around children before you make your decision to start.

The best advice I can think of is to have a strong relationship with God. That is what children need most and if you don't have that, you don't have what it takes to properly raise them. That said, you don't have to be as mature as you'll ever be on this earth before you have kids.

Being pregnant is a nice feeling sometimes; other times it's very uncomfortable. Overall, I enjoyed my pregnancy and am looking forward to my next one.
