over the years with my grandson we have what we refer to as "Lukism's"

sadly, now that he's in school he's losing a lot of them because (of course) the teachers encourage using the correct word.

the one I really miss - when he would talk about something that occurred in the past he would say, "remember lasterday."

IMO - lasterday is a really good word

My sister who is a whole lot younger than me had one of her kids baptized last year. After it was over with my granddaugher went up to the Pasto and said "Hi my name is Trinity, its just like the Holy Trinity, I learned about that at my grandma's church." The pastor didn't know what to say. She was like 5 or 6 at the time.

Another time we went to pick up some hamburgers, we were on our way home, she was about 4, she wanted me to turn the inside light on in the car so she could look in her bag. I told her I could because the light didn't work. She told me "You need to carry it to the man, tell him your name is Grandma and tell him to fix it."

My daughter-in-law is Roman Catholic. My oldest grandson goes to their parish school. On Ash Wednesday, Kellie took her youngest, Logan (3 yrs) to the Ash Wednesday mass with Lukas class. As an FYI - Logan has some trouble with is l's and r's - this is Kel's translation.

Kellie and Logan went up to receive the ashes on their foreheads. The entire way from the front to the back: "Mommy, he put dwort on mine head! He put it on you, too. Look! Hookas! Hookas, he put dwort on you to?" (Lukas was sitting with his class - so Logan was speaking quite loudly so his brother would hear him) Scans the pews. "Evwy body gots dwort!"

"But, no sand box, no twoys, no twucks. Just dwort?"

Later when Kellie went up for communion (again taking Logan with her as opposed to leaving him alone in the pew) - Logan gets to Father Morse (who was miked) and says "Oh no! No more dwort!"

When my daughter was about 6, the company that I work for had a children's Christmas party. The company president at the time was a very kind and sweet gentleman who took the time to know not only the employees' names but also the employees' children's names.

Mr. Miller came up to Michelle and asked her if she wanted to work at the company when she got older.

My daughter replied, "No, my mom says that I have to go to college and get a really good paying job."

I almost died right there of embarrassment. He thought it was funny and told her to listen to her mommy and go to college when she got older.

my grandson said something so goofy the other night I had to dig out this thread

My daughter, son and two grandsons took my husband out to dinner for his birthday. His choice was a little neighborhood tavern we all enjoy. As a bit of background - my daughter just got her hair cut and is styling it differently (more curly than she's worn it in the past). When everyone first to the restaurant we complimented her on her hair.

About 30 minutes or so into the meal a song comes on the jukebox and Hannah says that she doesn't like the song. Logan (my almost 4 year old grandson) leans over to her and said,
"Maybe you'd like it if your hair were straight."

How I wear my hair always affects my taste in music

A friend of mines son was afraid of the dark he would crawl into bed with them every night. My friend said to her son that the Lords watching over you why are you scared little Kyle said does God see everything? My friend answered and said yes.
My friend told her son a story and said you have to sleep in here now. So she plugged in the new night light as she left she left the door partly opened. She heard little Kyle say "God if your in hear please do not answer I am afraid of the dark."
Thought it was cute.
