  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I find that claim as questionable as it is unsubstantiated. But even were it the case that no one in their right mind suspected Clinton of yet another crime that she did not intend to commit, the conflict of interest lies not only with their reluctance to investigate Clinton's involvement with Russian propaganda funneled through an ex British spy and used to acquire a FISA warrant but more chiefly with the political partisanship of the prosecutors having donated to one campaign involved in the election. They are surely seen by anyone not wearing blinders as compromised in their ability to act objectively when it comes not only to the candidate of their choice but even more so to the candidate they were so opposed to that they spent their hard earned money trying to make sure he was not elected.

Sure, that makes sense and I believe you are correct. Mueller's team is filled with very aggressive prosecutors and some folks feel, too aggressive. Some of their past work, was overturned by higher courts after reviewing the cases for this very reason.

The other thing is this, special prosecutors have a basic motivation to substantiate their appointment, which tends to lead to this type of aggression.

Even if the FBI investigators were composed of all the small businessmen Trump stiffed when his real estate projects went bankrupt, his 19 sexual abuse accusers, and the people he defrauded through Trump University, they would still have to present evidence that would pass muster with a grand jury.

And actually, compared to the "dream team" of Mueller investigators I just fantasized about, a few Democratic lawyers don't seem bad at all.
